Roy is worth far more then a late 1st.28 YO,~70 points a season, excels at both ends and has a 4.0 caphit and signed until '13.He would easily be your 3rd best forward.

And he has played LW in the past, actually with Drury as his center back in 05-06.

Yupp. A very late 1st and a very late 3rd? No way. This is a terrible deal for Buffalo.

You're not gonna get Roy for scraps. Try again.

You would be right, buffalo want much more than a late 1st and scraps

The deal they aren't offering isn't insulting, it's a starting point to a deal. I would like to get something along the lines of a Center, high prospect (Krieder) and 1st (in the case of the Rangers where the 1st is close to a 2nd) coming back for Roy because I think if he is shopped, the market will be highly competitive for him. I think what you are offering is closer to what Guastad will bring in a trade..along the lines of a 2nd and prospect.

Not much thought put into this proposal.
No not at all, but he would be on our team. With Richards signed to a massive contract and Stepan breaking out we're suddenly deep at center.

Roy for a prospect, late 1st and 3rd is a terrible offer. Look what Fisher, Kaberle and Versteeg got, and add more.

Noooooooooope

A Young NHLer (24 or younger) that plays center, 1st, and a prospect.

Or a can't miss center prospect (think B Schenn) and a 1st.

Stepan and a 1st would work.

Absolutely not. At this point Stepan is more valuable than Roy.

But like I said this really doesn't work for either side.

I think that's the point. Roy is, essentially, Buffalo's only true top NINE center. Therefore, to Buffalo, his value is much higher than it may be to other teams. Thus, he will only be traded for a large overpayment.

Not necessarily, I think if we got fair value and there was a center or blue chip center prospect coming back I would take it

But our only blue chip center is Derek Stepan and we don't even do that straight up.

typical thread where the non-playoff team's best players suddenly become devoid of value simply because a playoff team wants a better playoff roster lol...

lets not forget the sabres fans throwing ludicrous proposals out there like the aforementioned dubinsky,kreider,1st for roy a package the rangers would never offer...

Dubinsky,1st are a good start...Kreider is obviously not happening though

I usually get roasted on my proposals

I just checked......Sabres would need to move Boyes to free up cap space this season.....maybe the Kings would take him for a 4th or 5th?

hmmm again no. Boyle your 4th line rangers toss in that appears in every trade thread proposed and an underachieving Dubinsky for our 1&3 Centers....
