Habs had 5 players in the world juniors and 3 on team canada. Do you even follow this team? I really don't give two ***** how this site ranks teams prospects, habs are very deep. Not only are they deep they develop a large amount of nhl players.

We have great d prospect like Tinordi beaulieu Ellis Dietz but we lack good forward prospect.

We have Gallagher Leblanc Kristo and Bournival none of them have elite talent like Tinordi or Beaulieu could have. We need a top 5 pick on the offense this year for sure.

As much as I like Diaz, this is highway robbery for the Habs. You don't get to draft from 5th (or lower) to 2nd overall if you're only sending away a 25-year-old UFA oversees signing, albeit a very good one.

Does Colombus have the balls to draft an other talented Russian?

We're going to be picking top 3 by the end of the week if not sooner.

Just let the chips fall where they may. Hell, we might even challenge Edmonton at some point, why would we swap picks?

Oilers have no need for just another "above average" D prospect - most of which are rather a gamble until they play in the "pros" (AHL, SEL, etc.) when they have to deal with 4 D prospects that might break into the AHL next season

I'd be okay with

Oilers 1st 2012

for

Montreal 1st 2012 (i.e 5th)
Montreal 1st 2013

Not when the two teams are drafting neck and neck, no way.

The real questions for you oilers fans is:
Does Grigorenko has an clear edge over Murray/Dumba to justify going BPA or the value is it enough close to go by needs?

IMO I would go with de D prospect and maybe trading down is the smart move. You also have to consider if Murray/Dumba falls to 5th, and in order to do that you have to know who is picking in front of you. I guess we will see at draft day cause theses trades never happend at deadline.

Montreal may get Grigorenko without dealing to the #2. His stock sounds like it could be falling a little.

Defense wins championships

If this statement is true then, do not send any defensemans that we drafted. With Suban, Georges, Diaz, Emelin and Markov already here the additions of Tinordi and Beaulieu in a year or two will make this D one of the best if not the best in the league. I am very hopeful that Gallager, Bournival, Leblanc, will develop as good players in the nhl already with Desharnais, Paccioretty, Cole, Eller we are not very far from being contenders. So lets skip this year playoffs, draft wherever we finish it will be a good spot anyways, and lets go on.

Last year Florida offers us Weiss to move from 1 st to 3rd so I'm not too high on this offer. Obviously Florida was pretty high on the Nuge but still that's a way better offer to move down less.

Except Weiss would be too old for Edmonton's youth movement. Not as enticing as a potential top pairing, at worst a 2nd pairing PP (Beaulieu)/ PK (Tinordi) anchor. I can see why you would hold on to that pick though.

How is Weiss better than Beaulieu or Tinordi + a second.

They will mature at the same time with all your young stars and fit a glaring organisational need on top of it. Have you seen Tinordi play?

Weiss is an undersized dime a dozen center. You can get those at the flea market.

If Columbus drafts a d-man, no thanks.

If they draft a forward, that sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

For decades the Habs' greatest organizational need has been a big superstar center. With Grigorenko set to go 2nd overall and a stable of good defense prospects like Trouba, Murray, Dumba and Ceci set to be available at Montreal's position, what would it take for these two teams to swap 1st round picks? From the Habs' perspective, I would be willing to offer Beaulieu/Tinordi and a 2nd round pick.
Grigorenko not worth trading up for

One of the best in the league...did I read that correct? Tinordi and Beaulieu haven't proven anything yet so why don't you wait before pencilling them into "one of the best D". Will Markov be playing in a year or two? & Even if he is I doubt he'll still be as effective
There was a number of teams who can easily top this defense

Hope your joking, your saying we would have no use for Price, Georges, Pacioretty, Subban (even though Im not a fan), Eller, Emelin.

That's about all im interested in for roster players from Montreal to be honest.

I remember at the start of the year. Leafs and Habs fans were at each other about who would have the better year and i remember at one point a poster said, we should swap 1st and let the games begin.

Got me thinking. Thanks a cool idea. two close teams being a big rival swap 1st at the start of the year. would add some serious flare to the year and head to head match ups.

None of this makes any sense at all until after the lottery. MTL could easily end up drafting before the Oilers.

I'd be more comfortable moving beaulieu over tinordi.

Do Oilers fans think MTL 1st and beaulieu gets EDM 1st?
