It's easy to see why Ott is such a good fit. He's one of the top faceoff men in the league - something very valuable if he plays next to Hodgson. Gillis also refered to wanting more 'balance' on the roster. If that means grit, Ott is a good target.

Mason Raymond can be a useful player on the 3rd line. But is he a better fit than Ott? I would say no, especially with a coaching staff that likes physicality in the bottom 6.

Exactly. He would bring a skillset needed vs raymond's.

I'd be over the moon if we got Ott.

You can never have enough players like him in your lineup, especially come playoff time. A deal centered around Raymond and Ott makes a lot of sense for both teams too.

and they got us back with Bernier

Find a way to get Ott and Allen/some other dman that's available for cheap and I'll be happy.

Why on god's green earth would Dallas make that deal?

Plus they couldn't for cap reasons.

While we're at it lets get the Stars to add in Jamie Benn. But I do like the idea of Ott and Robidas maybe something like Raymond+Ballard+Schroeder/Rodin?

Raymond + Ballard + Rodin for Ott and Robidas is something I'd do.

This seems to be the most common deal both Canucks/Stars fans can agree on in the proposals.

Yes, but Dallas couldn't due to the cap. I'd also rather keep K-Conn...

Ott and Robidas would fill two holes on this roster.

Yes, that would be pretty ideal if we could somehow pull it off.

That would be awesome if we could get it done.

Alberts, Raymond, Picks/Prospect for Ott + Robidas?

Dallas gets a guy signed for cheap next year and an RFA.

Has to be Ballard, Alberts virtually has no value. Ballard and Robidas offset each other's caps and such, Robidas just fits our needs better, plus he can produce. Also would be off our books quicker then Ballard, not to mention cheaper.

True. I'd do that. It's obvious Ballard is having trouble with our system and isn't a great fit.

Robidas on the other hand can play 22+ minutes a night in a pinch and is a RHS.

Being a RHD is the key and why I'd do it. IMO, Robidas > Ballard and Ott >>> Raymond for our needs. Stars fans have asked about Rodin, and I'd add him if it got this deal done. This deal would set us up for such a good run, it wouldn't matter if we gave up Rodin in the end, for me at least. I also don't really see Rodin making any big impact with us soon anyways. Him being 5'11, 178lbs doesn't intrigue me that much.

AV has experience with Robidas from their Montreal days as well.
