Speaking of Steinbrenner... weren't the Devils part of Yankees-Nets or something? Did that fare well financially for the Devils as per their involvement with the Yankees? Think that is something they should look into doing?
NY Post writes some negative articles about the financial problem : F The NY Post! They suck and are just speculating! They never get anything right! They are just being biased Ranger fans wanting to see us struggle!
NY Post writes something positive about the financial problem: Yay things are getting better! Sounds good! Thanks NY Post!

Really? I see the exact opposite in this thread.

Don't think the league is going to have a problem with someone lending money..
Even if the team defaults and the creditors take it over.. the NHL can block them from operating the team and force them to sell it.
Here's the thing, a forced sale would occur outside bankruptcy court and subject to different contractual obligations than the phoenix fiasco. Any type of financial obligation owed by a team and controlled by an outside entity construes an ownership interest.
This would preclude Dolan from loaning money for a forced sale and increased market share vis a vis fraudulent means.

If anything, I'm more skeptical now than I was over the doom and gloom stuff lol, but I've already been going through the exact same nonsense with the Mets, and continuing to deny their issues.
Just got back from lunch. They were repeating this report on NHL Home Ice on XM on "Around the Rinks in 90 Seconds". They're usually pretty good with valid info.
The benefit of the Post reporting good news is this:
If the Post is correct, there was a problem but crisis has now been averted (at least temporarily. However, if the Post is full of it, then there was never a problem to begin with. Win/win as far as rationalization and denial goes.
It's Dolan. He's trying to make the 3 home arenas, brah thing more reality than just a statement. That, or its Vince McMahon as this will be the focal point of a huge WWE story line that will meet its resolution at Wrestlemania at MetLife Stadium in 2013. Vince vs. Bettman with Ted Dibiase re-appearing, winning the match somehow, and becoming the new owner. Boom.
But seriously, I have no idea. Probably not anyone of note. Could just be someone who is potentially interested in ownership, is fronting the money for the financial issues, and has specific terms that could trigger a sale (or the opportunity to buy out the current owners shares as opposed to hitting the market with the team) if conditions aren't met. Assuming that kind of a thing is legal. I don't know quite enough about it to say whether or not you could do that.

But really it could be some many people. I am leaning toward the only person that was mention to have an interest and thats the Wendys guy. Who knows, we prob never will, unless JVB cant get the money and he is forced to sell the team to the guy. Hope its all true so this can stop.
Or the random Toronto billionaires that some random guy mentioned on here! He was right all along! That or...

Here's hoping.
See image above. The Post writing a positive Devils article seems suspicious to me.

I wonder what happened internally that caused this shift? Because honestly, Chambers has dumped LOTS of money all over the place in Newark just to do it really. I guess he wanted to build the arena and bought the team to make sure that would happen and now is over and done with the hockey aspect of all this.
However, another layer of mystery to the whole lot is that Gilifan is Chamber's son-in-law.
I ate a donut with Gilfilian once. Seems like a good guy. But I really wonder about how involved he is/has been with much of what goes on. As has been said/is known, he is more or less the face of Chambers' share of the team. But what has his involvement been? Is it Chambers' money and he just told Gilfilin to oversee his investment or is there more to it? That's part of what makes this whole situation so confusing. At least for me.

That and if we suddenly make a deadline deal they don't have to explain how the 'secret' payroll wasn't a factor cause help is on the way. If we don't make a big deal, they can say we're still on a budget until the money is approved.
