Oh and how about breaking the contract of the very profitable MSG TV Deal?

I think if there was a new owner, the Devils aren't going anywhere. Just saying....

EDIT : and as I post this, I noticed that it was discussed. Silly me.
In general, I'm one of the people that will never believe anything anyone says about this team moving anytime soon regardless. Mostly on account of the lease, the TV deal, and the quality of the arena they're in. That post was me saying a pessimistic view of how the article could be construed. Not my opinion of what to make of it to be honest.

I wonder if Vanderbeek had to get NHL approval to give Doc the MKZ last night?

Exactly. Do you really think the Devils pay for the Lincoln cars that they give away? It is giant publicity for Lincoln when they do that, especially when Doc's wife flips out when she sees the car.

I was being facetious. I'm sure Lincoln covered much of the cost of the car. She put on a good act

Plus, they changed the "Super Score-O" rules to ensure that they don't car away any cars this year, whereas under the old system they were guaranteed to have to do so

Basically, they can now give away one car each year ... hopefully next year, it's to Matt Loughlin

And the fact that they make sure that people can't even score by letting as many women play in it as possible.

I'm still not worried. The Devils signed a decent amount of players last offseason, traded for Poni, Foster (at the time), Zidlickly, and so on and added salary, have carried the maximum players at the NHL level, have carried the NHL roster limit most of the season, have no cut back on anything noticeable....

Obviously the teams performance can go a long way. Playoff revenue can be a big time profit machine... let's hope they stick in there for at least 2-3 rounds lol.

so wait a minute, the NHL wanting to review the deal scared the investor off? Like they didn't expect the NHL to do that? What crap. I would not be surprised if there were issues but the BS speculation the Post comes up with for reasons is just so laughably bad it is amazing.

it may be true and all, but I find it weird that there is a "mystery" investor... a "secret" payroll..

Just not enough facts to convince me either way. Seems like a lot of speculation

This. Someone willing to put up millions of dollars wouldn't get scared off by the NHL reviewing the terms of the deal.

Yeah, the financial woes could be over for the Post if they keep printing this drivel...

Newspaper's are a dying breed for a reason.

You're quite right, this story doesn't pass the sniff test. Maybe the investor really did back out, but that seems like a silly reason.

Have the Devils set a date with the state of the franchise yet? That would really be a lawnchair and popcorn show, too bad I wasn't eligible for it this year lol.
