That I could live with. 3rd round and Peckham we can do....
a ufa a healthy scratch and a spare draft pick for a 25 to 30 goal scorer. WOW.. We'd all be okay with that. Unfortunately LA would laugh and block Steve Tambellini's phone number if he offered that to them.
Oh man Dustin Brown on this team would be amazing. Exactly what I'd like to add to the forwards.
On the actual deal between LAK and CBJ. I'm not sure I love it for either team, more like I like it.
I think LAK pressed the panic button big time. We're talking about taking on a massive contract, yes the yearly money isnt that big, but if he slows down, that contract will be hell to move.
Still, for the next 2-3 years he should be good. The risk would be, if him and Richards start whatever they did before in Philly. Lets get one thing straight, Philly didn't trade Carter and Richards for ***** and giggles. There was a legitimate reason, and whatever happened, the risk that it occurs again in LA is there.
It gives them another scoring presence for a team being historically bad offensively.
For CBJ, I dunno, I think JJ is garbage. Defensively he's bad, and offensively he's not good enough to make up for it. We're talking about a 2nd pairing guy who needs sheltering. I also question his hockey sense. But it does get a terrible contract off the books, and they add a young D-man who, if he puts it together, would be quite an effective player.
We'll see.

PRV would at least have to be included. Hemsky and PRV?
Sign Hemsky. To be competitive you need veterans that can produce. Beside Smyth we don't have another consistent veteran point producer. There's a big drop off after Hall, Eberle, Smyth, ???
We need Hemsky especially now that he's entered the prime of his career. He's been struggling but his game will come around.
Sign him up on a short term deal. What's the worst that can happen, you overpay for a proven 1st liner. You can always trade him in two years at the deadline.. And at that time you'll have a better idea of what the team needs to become a perennial contender.
Assets like Hemsky don't grow on trees, especially in EDM. Don't be stupid Tambo sign the kid.
