Phaneuf nails Parise then fights Clarkson

They didn't show any good replays of the fight, but the hit was good.

Well, to Clarkson's credit, he challenged Phaneuf after the hit.

It wasn't like Pheneuf running around being a bully lol.

edit: that was very funny calling of the fight "down goes clarkson" and all when they kinda both fell simultaneously and all

reminded me of "DOWN GOES FRAZIER DOWN GOES FRAZIER" lol

Not a dirty hit, but it should have been interference.

Thats what they said on SNET too. Hit was legal. I am still unsure, why a player MUST fight after landing a hit on a player. The guy paid price for being weak on skates, why fight other guy for that?

I hate when players have to fight after a clean hit. I do like the instigator call though.

Borderline. He finished his check, it was a good hockey play to me.

The fight was awful. Neither of them could really reach each other, and it was mostly just pushing around.

How did he nailed him? A shove into the boards, Parise gets up and then a shoulder in the head. Great. Was at least an interference.

Have to love Clarkson there.

Yeah, interference. The hit itself wasn't dirty. Clarkson did exactly what he should have. I love how Phaneuf was shrugging like, "Really? I have to fight for that?" To an extent I agree with him, but it wasn't a 'clean' play. You gotta protect the star players.

Phaneuf should start to take off his visor before fighting.

I hate that players have to fight after hits that are clean. I love the refs chickening away from calling the instigator too. Roughing? Please.

Lol.

There's a reason Clarkson got the extra two.

Criticizing Phaneuf for fighting with a visor here is silly.

Maybe Clarkson shouldn't of instigated the fight with Phaneuf if he didn't want to fight someone with visors.

Lol look at properly, the hit was clearly on his chest. Parise dived when the Leafs got a PP lol.

There is no way that little tap from Kessel makes Parise fall to the ice.

I say win for Clarkson. Got some better shots in, all while having to avoid the visor. Phaneuf got the take down.

Love the homer call, btw.

Because every hit in the NHL has to be illegal in some sort of way.

He didn't really have the opportunity, did he? Clarkson went up to him and started pushing him around.

It looked a lot worse in real time than it was, seems that Dion got Parise with his bicep or shoulder, clean.

Good on Clarkie, but I have to ask, what's his size? Dion's like 6'3 215, but Clarkson looked tiny going for it, still, much respect.

A just criticism, if Phaneuf was the one running around looking for a fight.
