For non Hab fans, its true. To Hab fans he is more overrated than any player I've seen. He's in the middle of that. Has one hell of a shot when he uses it.
This year he took a lot of flak from our own fanbase, if you read our boards. I'd like to say he turned the corner, but there was no corner to turn from... he's still the same player only simplified his game lately and has been praised by our interim coach. Still our best defenseman by a mile.
His answers are dumb. First of all, he doesnt hit with his keister he hits with his back. Which is both cowardly and he is gonna give himself whiplash one day, so thats just dumb. And he didnt see Ference coming and didnt get a chance to take his gloves off? Lol...thanks Subban, I havent laughed like that in a long time.
This is a great contribution to keeping the Bruins stereotype alive. Hilarious.
will HF is one of the most 40 most trafficated forums in the internetz http://rankings.big-boards.com/?p=2 ;just in case anyone didn't know
and it appears to be the most active sports forum, so I sort of understand why it's being used
I want to pay off Roberto Luongo to say in public that Don Cherry is a no-good ******* **** Mc********* salad ******* Flower *** suit wearing ********* and then take bets on how many pages it would reach on HF.......or how many threads.
I think the moderators should clean up this thread and make it more politically correct... to infer that Anaheim is a hockey market that anyone should take seriously is not a message that we should project (should curious ESPN-article-readers stumble upon this thread).
With respect to ESPN and their "hockey related coverage", the closest they got was when they did a segment about "Goons On Ice Skates"... it was about Tonya Harding taking out Nancy Kerrigan...or Manon Rheaume in pog form
I'm sure there was a better way for him to do that than to pick out another NHL team and say nobody cares what they do.
Yes, I understand what he was saying. But the way he said it was foolish, and it perfectly fits the pattern of thoughtless actions that he was trying to dispel. Instead of making his point, he just gave his critics more ammunition.
Maybe he needs to take a media-relations course or something.
are you ****ing kidding me? i cannot believe the over-reaction to the Anaheim quote. he was comparing it to the fact that it's not unusual to have 1000 habs fans at a practice and more media on off-days than most NHL teams have post-game
Lol and then Canadian's (and Mexicans) get mad when people from USA are called Americans because technically everyone on the continent is American. You're right, but...is it really that big a deal? He's a black Canadian. He's black. He wants to be a role model to kids in other ethnic groups. That's the main idea here.
actually if we're going to use labels, he's Caribbean-Canadian, his parents are from Jamaica i believe

What is a hockey??? Why do people keep going to Honda Center? They can't be having THAT many concerts.

Ducks fans are awesome on these boards. I mean that. Hope you guys come back and make the playoffs.
Thanks guy. We try.
To add to your point, the only reaction I think we'd see is either "Ducks add to diversity in Anaheim by adding Subban to play alongside Etem and Smith Pelly" or "Ducks shore up their physical defensive presence by adding Subban"
Honestly Anaheim related media (for the most part just Orange County Register and OC Register) is as factual and un-opinionated as possible.

Fine. He's a Caribbean Canadian African American? Can we say that?
