Good news for Greg Holland.

Terrible news for Soria. That would be his 2nd TJ surgery. Not many pitchers have came back from 2nd surgery. Hong Chih Kuo is one, Chris Capuano is another.

Bobby Valentine is irked by something the Yankees did Thursday night. espn.go.com/boston/mlb/sto…
Man hates the Yankees. Has just been mouthing off about them all off-season and all spring training. I know you manage the Sox, but, come on.

I thought Bobby V would be good for the Sox, but the way he's all gung ho about the Yankees, maybe not the best idea. But hey, it keeps ESPN's Red Sox/Yankees storyline going.

Tsuyoshi Nishioka disappointing for Twins so far

I don't know how he did in grade school back in Japan, but he earned a big fat "F" from the Twins in Baseball Basics. And that's despite a battery of tutors. No instruction ever seemed to stick with him and, as a result, this whole experiment has turned out to be an expensive disaster.

Terrible news for @Joba_62. He loves spending time with his son, tries to be good dad, and to lose his season in doing so really is a shame.

For those wondering:

The Newark Star-Ledger reports that Joba Chamberlain is likely to miss the entire 2012 season following surgery to repair an open dislocation of his right ankle.

Chamberlain, who is also coming back from Tommy John surgery, suffered the gruesome injury while playing on a trampoline with his son.

Joba is like the new Joel Zumaya.

In DUI news, Bobby Jenks of the Red Sox was busted...which means Valentine will blame this on the Yankees

And Matt Bush left the scene of an accident with a DUI...you know, the same guy that was drafted before Verlander

Joba Chamberlain lost so much blood Thursday when he hurt his ankle while playing with his son that there initially was concern for his life, a Yankees' source said.

Bobby V already pissed off Ozzie G this spring. The game that Ozzie got ejected he waved goodbye at Ozzie. Ozzie did not see it but he said had he seen it he would have told Bobby V to go **** himself!

I do really feel bad for Joba though. A lot of people are ripping him because he got injured in such a ridiculous way, but he was just trying to play with his son. You hate to see a guy lose back to back seasons.

Valentine has had a huge chip on his shoulder about the Yankees since he was the manager of the Mets (when most of NYC ignored his title contender since they fell in the middle of the Yankees dynasty.)

It was obvious when he was working for ESPN (remember that game where he criticized A-Rod for like 3 innings because he wasn't taking a wide enough turn around 3rd base?) and it's obvious now. If you think his whining is annoying in spring training, just wait until Sabathia or Rivera gets a reputation call against the Sox.

The one saving grace for Red Sox fans is that, if Boston struggles at all, Bobby V will probably get thrown under the bus almost instantly.

RT @m_sheldon: #reds closer Ryan Madson has torn ligament and needs TJ surgery. His season is done.

How big of a bullet did Ruben Amaro dodge?

On Valentine, I say it's all shtick. The more people are talking about him, the less people are talking about choke jobs and fried chicken.

and i don't think amaro jnr. dodged much of a bullet. he still has papelbon for 5 years. 5 years! a lot can happen in 5 years. madson will miss a year and be had for cheap next year.

Yeah, but supposedly had a deal lined up with Madson before he decided to get after Papelbon.

the phillies could have scrambled for a season and not had a "true" closer (lol).

i'd rather have that than jonathan papelbon for 5 years.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer's John Fay, the Reds do not have insurance on Madson's $8.5 million contract.

Ouch.
