Must have been using the same installation method as UPEI.

Meanwhile, Saturday at the UAC, you literally couldn't get the peg out of the ice... just ask the rink crew

This is going to be a tough game for UNB with the way the game is going. Just after UNB kills the 2 man short penalty Cam Braes was blatantly hooked with no call!

It is only going to be a tough game if UNB conitnues to have an atrocious power play.

Jeesh and I was thinking how great the feed was...no blips at all in first period and now totally gone.

Well, it doesn't seem like we have been missing much...two more unsuccessful UNB pp's...

Carroll ties it on the PP....according to the box score.

And just like that SMU scores.

So in almost 7 periods of hockey UNB has 1 goal that maybe should not have even counted and 1 that was the result of a bad play by Peters.

True...either way though...SMU can play some serious defence and Peters is definitely on his game right now. They are going to be dangerous in Saskatoon.

Or...they are one unlucky bounce away from possibly being swept in the AUS Championship.

The last 3 St. Mary's goals have to be 3 of the ugliest goals I've ever seen. The SMU players were laughing after the 3rd one which may have been propelled towards the net by a UNB player. The 4th was a routine easy stop on a sliding puck whether the SMU player touched it or not when he dove. With the score 4 - 2 because of a penalty behind the play, we had a 6 on 3 man advantage and couldn't pass the puck at the blueline without giving it away for a 5th empty netter.

So much for the 'strong 3rd period' that UNB usually has.

Sounds like it was UNB's game to lose more than SMU's to win.

Shades of 2009? Win game 1 then lose two in a row.

The stats would indicate that SMU is playing a trap/defense first then counter attack. Surprising for the #4 offense in the country to sit back. I can only hope if held to 19 shots again that UNB will come out on top.

SMU averaged 34.5 shots per game vs Acadia, but only 17 vs UNB - you would think a shot reduction of 1/2 would impact your offense.

Did I miss something in the final score? I thought the final should have been 6-2 ... but the box scores appeared to suggest 5-2 ...

It was 4-2 ... around the middle of the third and I thought SMU scored 2 empty net goals?

It was like UNB was acting defeated.

SMU just kept blocking shots and clearing the puck and keeping shooters to the outside.

Not many great opportunities in the third ... or even great back door attempts.

Did Carol get hurt at the end? He appeared to be in pain with his glove off on the bench.

First empty net goal did not count...there was a penalty on SMU behind the play that negated the goal....the guys doing the video didn't notice but it was pretty obvious that is what happened if paying attention.

Don't know if I like the decision to put Denny in there over Priamo (or Robertson, if he is healthy)....I know he brings the big shot and physicality, but UNB has plenty of offense...I think I would rather have the more stay-at-home types back there, although Priamo put up good offensive numbers himself at Guelph.

Robertson is Definitely injured, neither Denny or Priamo would crack the lineup over him. I don't think its too serious, but more so better to rest him now and have him for the U Cup.

Im fairly confident coming home, I don't think UNB is playing bad as a team, we see this every year now in the playoffs, Teams change their style and play the trap and try and keep UNB to the Outside, preventing us from getting too many quality scoring chances. The 4 goals SMY scored on Lacosta on only 19 shots wont happen again or at least in the way the 3rd and 4th goals did.

On the Other hand SMU is playing how they have to, Peters is a fantastic Goalie, and it could very well be a repeat of 2009 no question, regardless of who wins game 3 both teams will be in the Mix for the University Cup Tournament and I wouldn't be surprised to see them meet in the Championship game

Lacosta gave up some leaky ones last night, but it happens. Bounce back and take game 3 at home.

They lost fair and square to a good team

It is the job of coaches - and the players - to adapt to the other team's systems. Time to belly-up!

Priamo was a very steady influence in game one. Denny is clearly #8 on the depth chart, cant see any logical reason to insert him over a healthy Priamo or Robertson.

Definitely. As entertaining as it is to watch Denny tee one up, I'll take Priamo over him any day of the week if Robertson can't go.

On a bit of a tangent, has anyone heard how ticket sales for tomorrow's game are going? I'm trying to gauge whether I need to buy early (online) or I can just grab one at the box office an hour before game time like I normally do.

I just got mine, to be on the safe side. If the past few years are any indication I would get them early. I know game 3 in 2009 against SMU sold out and game 5 against X in 2011 sold out well before game time (they had to turn a ton of people away, but they were giving free tickets to students, which probably isn't going to happen this year, and with march break it might not be quite as busy).

Personally, I wouldn't risk it.
