what the hell...I mean honestly, what the heck were they thinking? After being sad about Downie being traded, they trade Quincey, somebody that could've helped us, to DET? For 27th-30th 1st round pick? What is that?
And we were starting to look better after shipping off Moore, then Kubina, now Downie? This hurts the locker room. Stamkos was tight with him, so was Marty, now that personality, which you cant just replace...with a PICK, is gone. Awesome.
Stevie Y (He's not SFY on this one) uses Downie to fill a huge hole on the team and then deals it for a late 1st round pick? WTF! They need defense help now, not 4 years from now. Hope SY is active in free agency to create some kind of defense. Sheesh.
I get to watch other teams push the Lightning guys around even more now.

Thats what I am saying. I have seen countless times Stamkos and Downie say they were good bros. You cant replace that. Stammer is probably a little pissed.
Quincey for Downie are pieces that included in a trade proposal and you guys RIPPED it apart...it was a total guess on my part (my idea was slightly mroe complicated..but those two guys were hte main pieces)
and now that it happened..i'm laughing at you guys..because you all thought I was stupid for proposing it..well it looks like your GM had the same thought as me..so yeah.
EDIT... haha a late first for Downie..i thougth you were guys were harsh overrating him...looks like i was right.
Just because your brain cramp happened to be shared by Yzerman doesn't mean it was a good idea.
Yzerman must have some crazy mad plan with all these moves and picks. I hope he does, because our roster is thinning out fast.
His mad plan, give your players away to the Red Wings and then take over for Holland when he moves on for the GM positions.
If the Blackhawks would not have given you more for Quincey, when we need D-men, then I am f--king really surprised. You guys are getting boned by a GM who don't care...

I can honestly say no one here gives a **** about Piche. He will never be on the big club.
Unless it turns into Detroit 1st plus no other major asset for Schneider, this is a horrible trade.
I dont get it. At all. I was mad about the trade when it was for Quincey but I figured it would balance us out a bit and improve the defense. But having him flipped for a late first? Sigh.
Yeah, not happy with this trade at all, but am really not seeing Yzerman screwing over the Lightning just to fill up Detroit. Starting to hit tin foil hat territory there.
Downie for Quincey= Okay atleast this makes sense. We need defense and puck moving ability.
Quincey for DET 1st= ??? Last year we went to game 7 against Boston in the conference finals. We were just a few moves away from getting there again. And now we just start full rebuild... again ?

I partly agree. Right now it doesn't look good. But:

Lots of picks for Tampa to try for a goalie come the off-season, keep that in mind...

That's why I'm mad for that.
2004 is far far back, we had last year sparkle that was making me think about a successful campaign this year.. and then boom. Nothing in FA market last summer, tons of giveaways at this deadline..
Might start reconsider checking some Hawks games (my 2nd favourite NHL team, way under Tampa in the list).... atleast for this year (and maybe the next one?).

LOL! yeah I see..its just very weird why they would pull this off given the circumstances.
GBL, I know, just like everything in life but it doesnt seem strange that this would happen? I mean, besides the friendship and locker room morale, its a professional sport, stuff like this happens but we are a close 6-8pts out of the playoffs, why would you change so much so quick? Unless they plan on making a move for Schnieder involving our 1st, some other stuff and we keep DETs first?
Like I said, if they turn that Det pick and a couple of seconds into Schneider or a number 1 goaltender than ok its not horrible, as much as I love Downie.
But good luck getting all the casual fans to understand that, when the hardcore ones like us are already *****ing about it as well.
Ill keep my faith in Yzerman, but man.... this is harsh.
