That would've essentially made it Steve Downie for a 2nd.

Also, Quincey was doing quite well playing top-pairing minutes in Colorado. He's definitely a top-4 defenseman and will likely replace Stuart when he leaves.

A guy they all acted like they downright hated having here the first time around, and now they give up a 1st round pick to get him back. And that was before he had back problems.

Welp, it is what it is. We're still a good team, but man... this a depressing move for sure.
You have seen Quincey play this year?

I guess it can be said that the Wings don't normally use their 1st round pick anyway (traded it last year)... but still. We could have done SO much better than this.

Smh.

Turns out it was a 1st and a prospect that would never make this team.

Im gonna guess that some of you havent watched Quincey play a great deal over the last few years. The only concern is his back. Holland just got a top 4 guy for a first round pick and Piche? That's a steal.

Is it true Quincey is tied for 2nd in the league in minor penalties?

Can't wait to see him paired with Ericsson. They'll never actually stay on the ice together.

A 1st round pick is a lot for a depth D-man any way you cut it.

Sure as **** doesn't seem like he's bringing him back as a depth defensemen. Does he view him as Stuart's replacement?

I dont hate it or love it. Pretty much the kind of deal that had to be made, and it's better than picking up Kubina.

Obviously the biggest issue is that we waived him for nothing. If we were picking him up without ever having him before no one would care.

Quincey has risen again. I never in a million-****ing-years expected this.

Even if i ignore Quincy's baggage from his first stay in Detroit, i will always hate him if he ends up being the guy who replaces Stuart.

Stuart better come back.

I'm gonna guess that you didn't watch him when he was year. Leino got better when he left too (for awhile). I don't like this at all.

This is utterly hilarious. This board's original drama was the Quincey debacle, I can't wait to see the arguments that churn up.

He's a great depth defenseman for the Wings. I think he can pull third pairing duty and be great, plus he can fill in at #4.

He's an RFA next year.

I've actually seen a number of Colorado games in the last month or so and a top 4 guy on the Avs is not a top 4 guy on the Wings, don't forget that. Ian White would be a top pairing guy with the Avs.

Philly paid a 2 and 4 for a UFA in Kubina. The Wings gave up a pick about 15 picks earlier for a top four guy under 30 under team control.
