I think our defense is the problem not our goaltending...

The way the Hawks defense is playing they would be better off trading Duncan Keith and a 1st for Rick Nash and using Nash as a 4th forward..

Yes, yes, I know what the stats of the goaltenders are.

No interest in Vokoun.

Your definition of "power forward" is a hell of a lot different than the norm. A guy like Lucic is a power forward.

That would explain the GAA, but it doesn't really explain the save percentages.

Not to mention, Vokoun spent the majority of his career putting up great numbers behind atrocious defenses, so I'm sure he'd feel right at home!

It totally explains the SV%...

When your D doesn't play up to par they will give the opposition better opportunities..

A goalie can only do so much..

Few goalies have ever been the "backbone" of mediocre hockey team.... Hasek was, Miller had his moments...

Under normal circumstances any goalie should be lit up under a bad defense...

The Hawks are 11th in the league in SA/G but 19th in GA/G. That seems like the hallmark of poor goaltending.

Coming into this season, Vokoun was tied with Tim Thomas for the best SV% since the lockout, despite spending that whole time on a bottom dwelling Panthers team. Honestly, he seems like the perfect goalie for a contender with a porous defense.

I don't think the Hawks get a goaltender this season. Maybe in the offseason, but they've been pretty clear that they want to address other needs.

Its pretty obvious you haven't watched the Hawks very much this year. A large percentage of the goals scored against the Hawks are a direct result of blown coverages. In practically every game so far this year there has been at least one goal scored where a Hawk winger gets caught too far down in the zone when the puck is at the point. Which leads to an opposing d-man getting time and space to put a shot on net while the goalie is screened, because no one clears the front of the net. This inevitably results in deflections, rebounds, and goals.

Its no surprise that once the Hawks started playing more responsible defensively they started winning again and Crawford is looking 100x better.

Plus, getting Frolik off the books would be so glorious with the Olesz buyout coming up.
Yikes - Jeremy is only 20 years old. Give the dude some time.

I'd not do that. Wideman can fetch first, and probably more. Vokoun can, too. Perreault, probably 4th. So let's say it's like 2 1st's, 2 3rd's and a 4th. Which is more than 1st and Morin.

Wishful thinking from Hawks fans...that package would fetch alot more if the pieces were shopped individually

I'm not saying that the Hawks would want to pay market value for Wideman and Vokoun, but someone will, so there is no use proposing trades that undervalue trade deadline pieces....

I like this trade a lot, big fan of all three of the Washington players. We give up a lot but would have the best deadline of any team, value is right for both sides.

No need for Vokoun, Crow just needs better defense in front of him.

Crow gets hurt, you'd be happy to have Vokoun and in a big package deal like this, the actual cost of Vokoun is not a deal breaker.

Washington's team defense and penalty killing suck. Vokoun has risen above that. Why do you think they are in 10th? Because Ovechkin is going to score 35 goals instead of 50? No, it's poor D.

Who needs Vokoun? The market for him is small. Teams aren't giving up a 1st for a backup (no contenders need a starter) UFA to be.
