Well, if they play their best line against our top line, then our second or third line eats them alive. My point is that with this depth, it will be hard for other teams to contain all three lines...and then Desi provides some nice scoring on the fourth line too.

I hope Boyle retires a Shark, even if he takes a paycut after this next contract is up.

he's 35 but he's still great.

He is great but there is something to be said about trading a guy one year too early as opposed to one year too late. They can still get great value out of Dan Boyle if they trade him after July 1. And if the trade makes sense in terms of what they get back, I would not be opposed to it. I don't know if the Sharks will be able to wait until his contract is up is the thing. He will be 38 when a new contract for him would start. It's obvious what he brings to the club but it's going to be very hard to ignore his age, his value, and the fact that they have the right side of the blue line covered for a long time with Burns, Demers, and Braun.

I like Nash, but what need do we have for him? We're not having much trouble scoring as of late. Problem is we're scoring 3-4 goals, out shooting teams and NOT winning. The issue is the back, not the front.

Here's a crazy thought:

Clowe + Niemi + another prospect and/or 1st for Nash + 6th or 7th.

Addition AND addition by subtraction. And isn't it time we consider that Niemi is not the answer here, and he's still an upgrade for Cbus. Both teams can sell it.
DW: "We couldn't pass up Nash."

Howson: "We couldn't pass up a Cup winner like Niemi."

I know Niemi hasn't been good and I haven't been kind to him lately, but do you really want to go into the playoffs with Greiss as our starter? I sure as hell do not, especially if it's just by default and not by winning the spot.

Greiss with Sateri or Sexsmith backup until Stalock is healthy.

Might as well toss White to the AHL if they are adding by Subtracting.

With the right team in front of him 11-12 Greiss could very well be 09-10 Niemi. We just don't know.

Was this necessary? I get the reasoning about a better source, but now we have two threads talking mainly Nash now...

I like Greiss and I'm not too happy with Niemi, but he's better than Greiss. I don't see things ending well if we go with Greiss going into the playoffs.

I'd be cool with Greiss as the starter if our D looked like

Weber-Suter
Chara-Burns
Vlasic-Boyle

Or something. But it's not.

Niemi has been on a 3-game slump, but it isn't like Greiss has been any better. Seriously, we're going into Philly territory with all this Niemi hate.

Aunty didn't even have that good of a blueline in 09-10 (although it was an awesome blueline), but they won a cup. When fully healthy, the Sharks team is pretty good, but maybe it's time to dump Niemi. Trading Niemi = major shakeup on this team.

Trade Nemo and bring back Niitty as backup...

He'll save us in the playoffs when the Sharks go down 4-0 to the Kings in the first period

Hahaha you're crazy, man. Niemi is going nowhere, and neither of those goalies is NHL ready.

Maybe I'm crazy, but if right now someone called DW asking about Niemi, would DW say, "no ****ing way" OR would he say "what are you proposing?"
