You get the feeling that it will just take a goal or two early to out the Caps away...remember how we were earlier in the season? One or two goals against and our mojo never got a chance to get started...

Score first and we will win tonight, boys!

Really hoping we don't slump bust the caps. It seems like whenever a team is struggling, we go into the game and **** the bed, and then they get on a roll. Hope the guys don't let that happen.

If we win I start focusing on looking up the standings rather than down. Big game.

It's going to be a war - both teams always play well against each other and these are huge points for both teams.

Isn't Ovechkin hiding a lower body injury? And Semin is an invisible headcase. Backstrom is also injured with a concussion.

I think that the Sens could break their will to compete if they get on them early.

We can't take any team for granted at any time. The Caps are a wounded animal right now, and you have to be wary playing against teams like that. No way Ovechkin stays this quiet and cold for much longer.

On a positive note, happy Miracle on Ice Anniversary everyone! 32 years ago today, the greatest upset in sports history took place. It's hard to put into words just how dominant that Soviet team was - a year earlier, they had dismantled the best NHL players at the Challenge Cup. The notion that they would lose to a team of American college kids was laughable. I still remember watching the last 10 minutes, everyone huddled around the tiny TV in the pro shop at the arena. (In an ironic twist, the game was on live in Canada, but not in most of the United States.) We had heard the Americans were actually winning, so there were a bunch of us (I was 14 at the time) following the last few minutes of it.

Hmm, that's odd. They have us at 185GF 183GA on the Standings page (link below). I only bring it up because we dragged ourselves back out of that negative goal differential.

Maybe their team stats page hasn't been updated

They should fix that asap though, as I now want to know what we're actually at haha.

Washington is like a wounded lion.

Definitely less fearsome, but still capable of hurting us pretty good with some of the potent skill in the lineup. Plus, they're not going to be happy.

We'll need another 60 minute effort like against the Islanders.

Anderson confirmed starter.

Not sure who's starting in nets for the Caps tonight, if it's Vokoun I'll be a little worried since he usually bounces back after being pulled from a game.

I hope Ovie doesn't play. I know it would suck for you, but you'll still get a load of Backstrom & Semin to digest.

It's a new, horrible thing he's doing. He does everything in "eights", on orders from his overlord corporate sponsor Bauer, in order to match his jersey number.
