Yes, because Thornton never says anything to the media that contains any real negativity. If hes putting the team on blast to the press, a press that he universally despises, there are issues in the room that private conversation is not alleviating.

And players are just supposed to stand there and watch if a guy beats one of their teammates because it's not his guy? That's ridiculous. Wingels was standing there guarding air as Nash slid into the slot and scored. If one of the Sharks did that, a member of the other team would slide out of their position and help. That is one of the reasons why the Sharks are losing right now.

Niemi plays better when he has pressure behind him / a goalie threatening to take his spot or at least a few consecutive starting games. Eg. last season when Nitty was outplaying him in the early and mid season; in his battle with Huet in his cup winning season in Chicago.

This season, he knows Greiss is no better than a backup and, at least with Nitty being alongside him, he would have more pressure to perform better. Previously, he went from starting slow to playing very solid. This season, he seems to be going in the reverse. We've had too many lengthy losing streaks this season and, not all based on the guys in front of him (although, how many see White as a re-birth of Wallin and Huskins!!).

As bad as the Sharks played at points they actually had a chance to salvage that game.

If Clowe had not taken that absolutely idiotic 4 min double minor they would have been in decent shape. That penalty killed all momentum, and extended the lead back to 3.

4-2 with half a game left against Columbus would not have been out of reach.

I still maintain that the double minor for what Clowe did was way out of line. At a certain point you have to realize you made a **** call and if the player vents, you warn and let it go.

I'm on this boat too. Players slam the door all the ****ing time. To give a 4 minute PP at that point in the game with what was being called earlier is irresponsible and inconsistent.

Also, I think whining after every offsides and/or icing that the Sedins do is infinitely more disrespectful to the refs.

regardless if its 4 min or 2 min the initial penalty KILLED the momentum we were building. 4 goals is a mountain to climb and every minute counts, not to forget that clowe is someone we rely on offensively.

it was eager-esque and he needs to fix his game, you defend your players but at some point you gotta say...we will beat you on the scoreboard and throw blows the next time i see you

The initial call isnt even made 99% of the time. Something else was going on that game and I dont know what it is. That call, the one on pavs early were completely ********* and both amounted to goals.

More importantly the Sharks started dominating and the Jackets started retreating. Until Clowe got a bit too eager of course.

I see cross checking get called, its more or less how the ref interprets it, arms and stick raised into the back at speed could also be called boarding, so im guessing it gets called as something.

my point is we had the upperhand, it was a rookie mistake and at most he shouldve glided into him with his shoulder to keep him from the play and back off, most likely a no call there and we enter the zone. i just dont think he was seeing the game from an "A" perspective. you have responsibilities on the ice.
