Good win for Ottawa. They came out and scored early to take control of the game. I don't buy Joe B and Locker's comments about teams facing them in the first round.

Looking back, funniest part is all those "Well, even though we haven't won any more than we were before, it's obvious the team is making huge strides under Dale" posts.

Any kind of luck maybe we'll have two in the top 5.

I mean simple simple plays failed. Coaching, coaching, coaching, practice practice. I really wonde what this team could have been like with quality coaching. Some of you bash the personnel moves, but most experts and many people here liked the offseason moves and felt this team was loaded GMGM seems to have an aversion to experienced, proven coaches.

I never did buy into the idea Colorado would be bad. I didn't think Varly would be so bad though. I guess this is payback for all the smack in the off-season about 1st round picks. We keep going this route and Colorado slides, there is a small chance of having the top two picks.

Does anyone know if Matt Yeats still plays hockey? Either way, we need to find him and get him suited up for next game. Only he can save the season.

I figure Kuz signing a 10 year deal in the KHL will be a nice ending to this horrific season.

5 points out of 3rd worst points. I would not call that good. The average was more in the range of second or third worst playoff team to two or three spots out of the playoffs. Guess where they are?

Was Vokoun trash again tonight?. Saw two of the goal he gave up, five hole canyon and an unscreened stoppable shot. How is he still the starter?

Also, Aucoin didn't play correct? Why the **** do they keep calling him up?

Kings have been doing a great job of shutting themselves out this season. A cut-out of a goalie might pitch a shut-out too.

I'm trying not to really worry until after I see what is done at the deadline, but I just want to say..thanks McPhee. Injuries finally caught up to us and this team can't adjust to the adversity. I mean how many seasons were we going to get all our young guns healthy for the majority of the season? This team has some serious flaws. And Leonsis might be too much of a ***** to get rid of McPhee. LOOK AT THE Wizards and that **** product they are putting out on the floor night in, night out. EG should be canned as well. At least the Skins seem to have a real coach and real GM.

Vibe in #Caps room an odd one. Players/Hunter felt they played well, blamed this on just a bad start.

Just. Are you effing kidding me?

No way man. I paid $300 for a pair of seats in Toronto to sit through that pathetic 7-1 loss.

Adversity on their way to the cup. Ward does well in the playoffs.

People I want gone in the next week:

Vokoun
Wideman
Hamr
Knuble
Ward
Schultz
Erskine

Once the firesale is over fire GM
If DFH isn't running the system he wants; let him.

Shut Nicky down (if that isn't already happening)
Offer Sasha a 4 year deal for reasonable money
Get the prospects up for some nhl playing time
Start researching GM and coaching candidates
