Whatevs. You got to see a Dave Steckel shortie, right? That's worth the price of admission.

If you're more than okay with them losing you should be fine with that sort of mentality.

Moral victories = problems.

Hunter is clueless if he thinks this was a strong road game.

Well, yeah, but I'm thinking about Dale's conversation with McPhee tonight or tomorrow morning, and then McPhee's with Ted.

Edit: And you didn't have to edit...I do "want" them to lose.

Obviously you hope George doesn't buy Dale's BS and Ted doesn't buy George's, but....

The on-ice product speaks for itself. It's a mess. You tell yourself you played well all you want but no points is no points.

I think the biggest thing we've learned about this team lately is how few of them are able to elevate their games. Maybe when the opposition is flat they can get away with this shell hockey nonsense but when they need to raise their game collectively, particularly early on in games, it's just not happening. They can sort of find that urgency at home but I wouldn't expect the crowds to be too hot or for that to necessarily continue considering the funk they've built up on the road.

Great game.... At getting to a selling point. Happy to see green's skating/mobility looks great. Not hampered.

I really can't see how one could judge dale IMHO. But whatever. BB is gone and perhapsmy initial wish on the dh hiring will come to pass.

Edit: I meant dale as potential success. Obviously it's been at best a push wrt the caps hiring.

Also, Aucoin didn't play correct? Why the **** do they keep calling him up?
I didn't say it was great. People on HF had Colorado being the worst team in the league this year, even more so than Columbus. This was the predictions by a lot of HF posters, not specifically Caps fans about Colorado. Funny how stuff plays out in sports.

Those were fringe people that thought they would be the worst. A lot of Cap posters hoped Avs would **** the bed, but knew they were roughly a fringe playoff team. The majority of HF'er saw it that way. Maybe you got confused by the delusional Avs fans that would go nuts if someone said Avs have a good chance of missing the playoffs.

There really wasn't many other fans for DH as coach other than me and RH. Most people were salivating the first game to jump on about Hunter sucks. The coaching change should have been handled after immediately after Tamp Bay loss. I'm still shocked DH took the job here.

Maybe those guys that left the team were the glue?

I'm more talking about a few posters who only will come on when the team had a good showing and talk about how well Hunter was doing vs. Bruce. How they're buying in and playing smarter more disciplined hockey. What a load of hooey.

Those few look like bigger fools than ever. It's always been the roster assembled.

Just to get the puck out of the zone quickly...or something. Maybe to a teammate, maybe not.

It's worse when you wade through mounds of work before wearily making your way home, you sit down and watch the game on the DVR after the slog, and you have the misfortune of witnessing unorganized, abjectly horrendous play over and over again. Very, very demoralizing. It has the secondary effect of catalyzing a ton of introspection btw. Stuff runs through your mind like, what exactly am I doing here? Why am I doing this to myself? Am I a masochist? Is reincarnation real and is one of my punishments for living a wicked former life being forced to be a DC sports fan? Is it because I'm an attorney? Does the lord hate attorneys? Are we as a collective (the DC metro area) being punished by a higher power for the sins of the powerbrokers in our city for injustices done to people domestic and foreign? But why the hell does NYC get multiple Super Bowls then, Wall Street's at least as corrupt as the governmental institutions we house.

And the worst part about it is the process is very likely to reoccur in a few days.

This.

It's always been the players. Mafki didn't make the moves when they needed to be made, and here we are.

I'm a Mafki guy...but it's time to clean house if this doesn't get turned around...and soon. Hunter was just a terrible decision...and adding his whatever to this group of sad sacks of **** was just a recipe for this **** burger of a run to the playoffs.
