How many times do I have to explain this to you? Do you want it in other languages?

I DID NOT WANT VOKOUN BECAUSE I THOUGHT HE WAS BETTER. I wanted him because it was pretty obvious that his contract would actually be reasonable. It was pretty clear that Bryz was the most skilled goalie available...and also that he would be getting a huge pay day. The idea, for the 73rd time, was that Vokoun would provide adequate goaltending at a much more reasonable contract. Turns out that was correct...so thanks for helping draw attention to that. None of the people who had supported signing Vokoun in the offseason had been discussing this, until you decided to bring it up for mysterious reasons. I actually hadn't even been following Vokoun statistically for quite some time until you brought him up and compelled me to check, I'd just been watching games.

Also:

Vokoun (on a team that's worse defensively):

2.52 GAA, .917%

Now. Let's compare that to Bryz:

2.82 GAA, .898%

Huh. Interesting. Vokoun, on a team which is inferior to the Flyers, has performed better...and he's done it in 44 games compared to Bryz's 41. And, you elect to point out two recent bad games. Sorry, but Vokoun has been markedly better than Bryz all season. He has allowed 9 less goals on 132 more shots than Bryz. He's had less offensive and defensive support. He has 4 shutouts. He's been better than Bryz in every single category except for losses...which can be attributed easily to less offensive support. Yeah though..it makes LOADS of sense to pass judgement on his season based on two games. Two games where his team didn't bother to show up.

Here's a hint: You should probably stop giving us reasons to compare Bryz to other goalies. Almost all of them have been better. You also just make yourself look foolish when you present two games out of 44 as proof that Bryz is better, or whatever you're trying to do.

I don't even know why you're constantly bringing Vokoun up anyways? Is it an attempt to aggravate us? You know that's trolling right? Well...joke's on you. You've managed to make Bryz look worse.

Agreed with Beef. The reasonable contract alone makes him a better choice. I don't see why we don't keep them reasonable anyway until we are sure what we are getting... shoulda signed bryz to 1 or 2 years, see how he plays.

Hate long contracts.

It is getting so confusing.

A few weeks back it was proclaimed that Bryz was outplayed when he didn't save shots that weren't taken.

But now it's immaterial when he makes saves on shots that probably aren't shots.

Actually it looked to me as though the shot would have burrowed under the net had Bryz not gloved it.

I've got to agree with not understanding the dismissal of a great glove save, no matter where the puck was going. As a goaltender, you don't let ones like that go because they probably will go over the net. That was an excellent reaction move, pure and simple.

While we're on it, the pad save in OT was a fine save, and a very good anticipation save on a good scoring opportunity. No more, no less. It should be just north of routine for a starting NHL goaltender.

Wow, that's ugly.

Anyway, every night, the vast majority of goals scored in the NHL are goals that BaDs would call soft goals were they scored on Bryzgalov. That's just fact at this point.

Agreed. I thought the flashy left handed larceny was on a shot that was going wide (though not sure if it was horizontal wide or vertical wide LOL).

And yes the pad/toe save in OT was a good save but a save that one would expect a professional to make.

hey its ok, dont worry guys. now its ok when Bryzgalov gives up a goal because it will be consitered a bad goal and hey, every goalie gives em up. Good thinng every goalie in the NHL has a save perventage hovering around .900.

I'm going against the grain here and saying it gets done. He is gonna catch fire and get his game straighten out here. It starts tonight! We already trashed him so much I don't think he can get any lower. All we have to go here is up! I like to be a glass half full guy. We got to this point with ****** goal tending, just get us there and catch fire. Optimism boys optimism!

I hope your wishes, as well as mine, come true, but at this point, I think that's just wishful thinking. People don't just turn their games around, and I don't think anything will change with him this year. Having said that, though, I do think he's going to play better, but not nearly at a level he's expected to play at (i.e. being a top 5 - 10 goalie in the league).

Philadelphia doesn't want to hate Bryzgalov. We want him to be a hero. That's why everyone is so frustrated with his play.

Hope without action is just wishful thinking....

Let's see if he's up for the challenge. Seems to suggest he is dropping the gauntlet....I say he continues to shoot himself in the foot and then proceeds to insert his bloody foot in his big mouth. But I hope I'm seriously wrong!
