That's not happening, but I just think Tallon/Santos would take anything for him, at this point.

After a couple of years, I think it's pretty clear what Tallon and Santos value and Santorelli represents the exact opposite.

Santo was given his contract because he gave us a 20-goal season last year, but he's simply out of place on this team.

He's really one-dimensional and now that he's no longer on the top-6, he's really become rather useless.

Dineen doesn't even trust him and quite honestly, I rarely ever even notice he's on the ice when he's on.

He's currently a checking line player who:
-has a 1.6 mill cap hit and is still signed for next year
-is undersized (Tallon/Santos value size)
-is a center who's winning less than 45% of his faceoffs (we signed Goc because of this, signed Madden because of this, traded for Smithson because of this...we're trying to become a puck possession team and faceoffs are valuable).
-can't PK

In other words, he's become useless.

I don't like Kopecky and I think he's really overpaid, but at least he does some things well.

I think Jovo sucks but he provides experience and leadership.

Everyone has to bring something at least.

Regarding waiving or trading a guy like Sturm or whatever, I disagree. Sturm at least PK's and I bet Tallon/Santos would like to have him back with Smithson now on our top PK unit.

If it's a choice between Sturm/Santo, Sturm wins. He fills a role and coach trusts him more.

One thing Santorelli does well is shootouts. Dineen doesn't even use him in shootouts and we just picked someone up (Wolski) mainly for his skills in the shootout because we've sucked so much at them. That's how far in the doghouse Santorelli is.

I would be shocked if he's not traded tomorrow. Not for anything big, but just to dump his salary.

4th probably rounder if we're lucky, which is sad considering where he was at last year.

I think wed get a 6th or 7th rounder for santorelli. I really wanna dump him but I think that extra year is gonna kill any trade.

I'm expecting a "shuffle the deck" trade or two.

A poorly fitting piece from the Panthers for someone else's poorly fitting piece.

Not expecting a true buyer/seller trade from the Panthers (at least not a big one).

Even though it's HB, he steals his stuff from legit writers- so there might be some truth to the story.

I think anybody could come up with that report. It is smart of DT to see what he could get for him and would be disappointed if it wasn't going on. I would also be disappointed to see "GBOMB" leave.

We have to deal this guy... He must have very solid value right now, and there is no way we give him 4.5. I think 10 M for 3 years would be fair, seems like they are way apart. What forwards you guys think we could go 1 for 1 with Garry? My only thought is not to a southeast team...

Montreal - Plekanec
Buffalo - Ennis/Gerbe
Islanders - Parenteau
Leafs - Grabovski
Devils - Clarkson
Flyers - Schenn?
Stars - Ott
Oilers - Paajarvi
Wild - Clutterbuck
Canucks- Raymond+

Just bored and drinking my 3rd trade day cup of coffee

Dreger was just on TSN talking about Garrison and apparently Tallon is looking to stay busy today (so ignore what that Montreal announcer said).

Apparently DT won't move Gary unless a top-6 forward is coming back. Dreger said there are a couple of good offers but nothing enough to make him bite just yet.

I saw this as well, would be interesting to see what we can get for him. Looks like Tallon isn't done tinker just yet which is a REALLY good thing considering we're just missing 1 or 2 more key pieces to become a force in my opinion.

DT means business. Love it. Love how he doesn't automatically shake his head at any possibility. Love how he leaves no rock unturned.

Was just watching Sportsnet, a little OT but check this out....

They were talking about the Luongo trade from Florida to Vancouver. Apparently Nonis called Keenan asking if he was interested in Bertuzzi. Vancouver didn't even ask for Luongo, ****en Keenan literally OFFERED him in the deal saying something along the lines of "so I guess you'll want the goalie".

WTF Keenan? No wonder you're still out of work.

We could have gotten Bertuzzi and KEPT Luongo. We probably could have made the playoffs that year if we had both pieces.

When I hear things like this, it makes me seriously doubt the actual interview process in which our old staff went though.

If you were interviewing a GM wouldn't you give them some kind of test, a trade scenario?

Like, hypothetically speaking, give them a week to analyze the team, and say I'm the GM of the Vancouver Canucks, and I wanna trade player x, y and z who would you offer for them in a package.

Would have saved us a lot of time LOL.

Why do you assume they would have traded Bertuzzi without Luongo going the other way?
