this is a good idea, we need a prospect stats thread, this should probably stickied.

For some more perpectives on those numbers you might want to check out the

WHL

QMJHL

OHL

I agree, I checked out the Devils' forum and the way they have it set-up is pretty interesting. I don't know how to do this, does anyone want or know how to ??

he actually went undrafted last year...so either he's just a late bloomer or there is something wrong with him that doesn't translate to his junior scoring

I've notcied, he's putting up some solid numbers, especially considering it's his first year.

Actually...winning is everything

Production is a positive, but not everything as has been argued extensively in another recent thread. I'm happy Petruzalek is scoring, I think it will get him attention that he wouldn't have gotten otherwise, but I also know that he's playing against teenagers in a league that favors offense and winning over basics (I'm sure this will start plenty of arguments).

well he is a teenager himself and is only a year older then Kasper
I meant since production is all we have access to it is everything for us in judging these prospects so clearly he would be outplaying him

also, hasn't he been playing with kasper?

his production may not be ALL a result of having a good linemate, but i bet it sure helps

Well again I'll have to disagree...there are plenty of sources on the web that you can go to to ask people who've seen him play for their comments. When I assess a player's ability I take those opinions into account as well...and although I do like to use statistics to help support an argument, they are by no means the only thing I use and can easily represent things that aren't always accurate.

For example (and I'm using a hypothetical here), if Petruzalek had scored half his goals into empty nets, that wouldn't signify that he is necessarily a great offensive player, but his stats would look great

If you give me some kind of design or set-up I will have no problem with that

I assumed those sources were not factored in, good points though
I have not read anything regarding either player so my opinion is fully based on statistics and on what I know from draft time and the reports there

I'll see what I can dig up on Petruzalek without violating any copyrights
