The Tampa Bay Lightning are proud to acquire F Prab Rai from the Vancouver Canucks for future considerations.
Quote:
We believe Prab Rai needs a change of scenery and a fresh start to rejuvenate his career, with Tampa reorganizing their organization from the bottom up, we believe Tampa would be a great fit for Prab. Although Prab has yet to have an injury-free season due to complications from a car accident in 2010, we believe this is a low risk-high reward endeavour and look forward to Rai's return, with a spot calling his name in the "A", on his quest to reach the big show.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are proud to announce the acquisition of prospect Jujhar Khaira from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for their 2012 6th round draft pick
Quote:
The Lightning are pleased with the acquisition of top ranked BCHL prospect Jujhar Khaira. We were hoping he would slip into the 6th round for us, but when Minnesota made the selection we knew we had to put something together. Jujhar is a strong power forward mould, who has dominated the BCHL in only his second year of play. Committed to Michigan Tech, we believe the NCAA will provide a positive stepping stone to Jujhar's ultimate debut in the NHL

We have a trade to announce:
The Tampa Bay Lightning are proud to announce the acquisition of top prospect Kevin Sundher from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for their Carter Ashton
Quote:
The Lightning are pleased to announce the acquisition of top prospect Kevin Sundher. Although we have given up a strong prospect in Carter Ashton, this deal addresses a strong need for the Lightning in depth at centre. Kevin is ready to make the jump to the big show, and with strong playmaking skills, players such as Martin St. Louis will be of utmost value to Kevin's development. We believe Kevin can be an elite top 6 forward in the years to come.

The Lightning are proud to announce the hiring of Robin Bawa as assistant coach.

Robin provides experience and a gritty presence which will be helpful in transitioning from the minor leagues to the big show

Guy Boucher demoted to assistant coach
The Tampa Bay Lightning announced today that with the hiring of Pat Quinn, current coach Guy Boucher has been demoted to assistant coach.
Quote:
With the previous season not going as planned, the Lightning were forced to make some changes on the bench. Although Guy is not entirely to blame for the previous season, it could be seen that the players were no longer adhering to the coaches system. Systems win games, and if players aren't playing by the system, failure is imminent.
Quote:
We believe with the hiring a coach of Pat Quinn's stature provides not only the players a fresh start in a new system, but also allows Guy Boucher a chance to learn from an experienced bench boss. Pat Quinn has had an impressive track record with numerous awards won over his illustrious career. Although he is nearing the age of 70 we believe Pat will provide an experienced presence that will benefit all those in the Lightning organization
