The Tampa Bay Lightning are proud to acquire F Prab Rai from the Vancouver Canucks for future considerations.

We believe Prab Rai needs a change of scenery and a fresh start to rejuvenate his career, with Tampa reorganizing their organization from the bottom up, we believe Tampa would be a great fit for Prab. Although Prab has yet to have an injury-free season due to complications from a car accident in 2010, we believe this is a low risk-high reward endeavour and look forward to Rai's return, with a spot calling his name in the "A", on his quest to reach the big show.

Guy Boucher demoted to assistant coach

The Tampa Bay Lightning announced today that with the hiring of Pat Quinn, current coach Guy Boucher has been demoted to assistant coach.

With the previous season not going as planned, the Lightning were forced to make some changes on the bench. Although Guy is not entirely to blame for the previous season, it could be seen that the players were no longer adhering to the coaches system. Systems win games, and if players aren't playing by the system, failure is imminent.

We believe with the hiring a coach of Pat Quinn's stature provides not only the players a fresh start in a new system, but also allows Guy Boucher a chance to learn from an experienced bench boss. Pat Quinn has had an impressive track record with numerous awards won over his illustrious career. Although he is nearing the age of 70 we believe Pat will provide an experienced presence that will benefit all those in the Lightning organization

Terrible move by Tampa. Demoting Boucher to give Quinn another shot. The old man was the worst coach I had the displeasure of watching.
