HBO sports on lokomotiv/cherapanov

Chris Botta @ChrisBottaNHL
HBO Real Sports has a Lokomotiv/Cherapanov/KHL segment debuting tonight. It is devastating.

I'm interested ... Hard to understand why the players that aren't Russian would want to go over there with such poor safety precautions

This is awful. Them talking about 2nd rate planes and pilots that haven't completed their training and one of them is on sedatives! Ridiculous

I still bite my lip every time I think of Cherepanov's unfair death. He was even better than Kreider.

I also feel like vomiting when I think of his parents having to bury him.

Wow. At least the KHL execs seem to be acknowledging that they ****ed up. That was just awful. Really sad to relive all of that.

I agree, shocking that it can occur in one of the major power countries in the world!

Just a sad story, you see Salei's family suffering, and you can't not think about the other 45 families suffering as well.

She seems like a pretty strong woman Given the circumstances

No doubt, hopefully the KHL comes through with the money for her. Salei sounded like a great family man. Flying in for a few hours just to see his family.

Yeah, that was unbelievable and completely admirable. He had to have been so tired.

Haven't seen many threads on it but it crushed me to see Cheraponov being treated that way and Jagr looking on helplessly. I can't imagine what that did to him mentally.

This whole thing is just nuts.

I agree, the fact that they were giving him illegal stimulants before games is so frustrating to me.

I couldn't believe the coach (I don't remember his name) admitting he knew it was going on but was forced to turn a blind eye. To top it off the KHL official sounded so blase about firing the drs.

Oh I know, like "well that's why they were fired." Obviously you idiot, they killed the poor kid!

I know its a very touchy subject but the KHL official's explanations in that piece came off as "it's not our fault"

The piece implied that Cheraponev had no clue what they were giving him. Is this accurate?

You guys got cheated out of something great by those evil people.
