I found it SO stupid that people would blindly back some movement without doing research about an Organization & this is a good example of why you SHOULD do it.
I'm not saying this happened to this guy, and I'm not sure I should say this, but here goes.
A few years back I had my drink spiked, probably by one of my 'friends' at the time who took offence to the fact I didn't do any illegal drugs. Long story short I nearly killed myself by throwing myself off the top of this:
I actually thought I was doing it and I remember thinking it would be a beautiful place to die. I woke up when a park ranger kicked my foot. I had actually thrown myself off the bit at bottom of the hill near where the person in white is. He gave me a pretty hard time about doing drugs, much to my chagrin.
People sometimes ask why I keep my hand over my drink, or my thumb on the top of the bottle. That's why.

This has been a public service announcement.
I considered this immediately. I was more so just joking around in my original post.
Have been through a similar ordeal via spiked drink in Laos. Wouldn't be surprised if this was the case, doubtful we'll find out either way though.

They probably will have tested him, but unless he wants the results out we won't know. I only admitted this happening to anyone a couple of days ago when I was talking to my wife about the time I helped out a friend of ours who was in the middle of getting date (you know) drugged.
She was acting strange for a few hours before the club closed (hanging around with some guy in a booth rather than dancing) and as we were about to leave she was getting passionately kissed at the bus stop near the club by said guy. I went over to say 'bye' partly because I had a bad feeling about the way she was acting. I told her we were all going to another friends house now, but we'd see her later. Her completely unfocused eyes and her barely audible 'help' still haunt me sometimes today.
Here is the facebook page, it will re-direct you to a site if you want, where you can put yourself on a mailing list, then you get emails, basically with the game, type of gamer they are looking for, date and time. You fill out a survey and they either email you or don't.
Try not to be discouraged if you dont get in right away. There is so many of these things. I can tell you that the dev team actually listens to you as well. They take the input of you guys pretty seriously.
I really disagree that FF7 stands the test of time.
Imo CT and the sprite type graphics games look incredible right now, while FF7/8/9 all look quite awful.
I think he meant story/gameplay wise as opposed to graphically. At the time, it was an incredible achievement in CGI. But I agree with your general point about sprite graphics...there's a classic look to SNES games that just can't be denied.
I thought FFIX was awesome. FFVIII, on the other hand, sucked preposterous amounts of butt.
30 minutes. 30 MINUTES!!! That's how long my house was empty today and that's when UPS decides to deliver my iPad. Now I have to wait to get it.
I was at Best Buy at 8 at night and they were still available. :S
Last year I was at BB around the same time on release day, and it was madness, big signs saying they were sold out, people asking like crazy for them, lineups of around 10 people waiting to try the demo/display ones.
Apple really dropped the ball on innovating, and marketing on this one, doesn't seem to be as much hype as the 2. Steve Jobs was such a great innovator, but more importantly he was a great salesman, the guy could sell ice to an eskimo. Watching his keynotes for the realease of the ipad and iphone sold a lot of people on buying them. How he is always like "Check this out, isn't this cool?" Yes, Steve, yes it is. Then you get this glossy look in your eye, and the next thing you know you are lined up with a bunch of other plebes on opening day, buying something you really dont want.
Apple is going to suffer from losing Jobs, a lot. I think they know it, hence why they are shoving an ipad out the door that doesn't really change much for the casual buyer a few months after his death. This is the niche ipad, its awesome if you're a gamer, or a designer, but really, do most people actually know that you're eyes dont even register the resolution of the screen? I doubt it.
Tell me, fellow HFBoard-ers: what is everyone doing for St. Patty's day?
Sitting at home, drowning out the noise of my little sister (16) and her friends having a get together in the next room with Death metal. (Not sure if I should or )

Steve Jobs was brilliant even if he was arrogant. No doubt they'll suffer a significant amount. It may take a few years since his influence will remain for some time. I wasn't that excited about this new iPad. If I had a tablet already and was hoping to upgrade I would have waited since the changes aren't that significant. But since this was my first I just bought it.
I would have gone to Best Buy or Future Shop but I was working all day. Was too tired after to stop. My parents were home for *most* of the day so I figured it'd be alright. Fortunately they dropped it at the UPS store so I picked it up today. Normally I would have had to wait until Monday.
Anyone have much experience dealing with collection agencies? Out of the blue yesterday I got a letter from one in Toronto telling me I owe just over $100 to Summitt Energy for a bill that apparently dates to 2007. I have no idea what it could possibly be for because I lived at the same place from August 2006 to April 2009, so if I missed a payment on a gas bill or something then surely it would have come up on subsequent bills. Summitt already has a reputation for being kind of shady about this sort of thing so I am pretty skeptical about the legitimacy of this charge.
Anyways I'm just wondering what the best course of action is, I'd prefer to just ignore this since I'm fairly certain it's bogus but I don't want there to be negative repercussions for me down the road. Once they hand it over to a collection agency then what are the actual options aside from paying up? Needless to say that this is the first I've ever heard about this apparent debt, Summitt never contacted me about it at all.

[lots of good info ...]
Sorry for the blast from the past but I just wanted to say thanks to WC for all the information that he provided. I got it sorted out after a bit of haggling with the collection agency and Summitt. The charge was a "cancellation fee" because apparently in 2007 they came by the place I was living when I wasn't home and convinced one of my roommates to sign on to a fixed-rate gas plan for *five years* (i.e. until Nov 2012), and their claim was that I broke the deal when I moved out of province in August 2011, since the utilities at our place were under my name. I vaguely remember my roommate mentioning to me way back when that he signed us up for this, but he certainly didn't tell me it was for five years, though it's entirely possible that the sales rep didn't tell him that either based on some of the stories I've read. At any rate once I insisted on documentation from the collection agency it became apparent that I never signed the contract in the first place, not to mention that Summitt was obligated to cancel the contract without penalty regardless when I moved out of province. At this point the lady from the collection agency hilariously tried to convince me to pay anyways because it "$100 wasn't very much money considering that failure to pay could be a black mark on my credit rating for 7 years" but after I gave her an earful she gave me the info to contact Summitt, who waived the fee.
That being said, I'm still pretty pissed off because after doing a little research it's apparent that Summitt basically dicked me over on utility fees for years. When they came by in 2007 my roommate signed us up for a fixed rate at $9.79/GJ. Actual retail price of gas in BC since 2006:
Now if I had actually signed this contract then that's one thing, I understand that when you sign on at a fixed rate you're rolling the dice on prices going up.... but since I never actually signed the contract myself I can't help but feel like I got screwed here. I mean, you could argue that in some sense I might be culpable because I didn't follow up with Summitt right away after my roommate signed us up to find out exactly what we had signed on for (at which point I would have canceled right away), but that seems kind of flimsy. At any rate I'm gonna file a complaint with the BC Utilities Commission and see where it goes from there. I don't really expect that I'll get reimbursed for anything but I'd be quite happy to stick it to those vultures and maybe get help them sanctioned or something.
Sorry for the long-ass post but I just wanted to vent a little and also let people know that --based on my experience anyways -- direct energy sellers like Summitt, Superior Energy, etc. are basically scam artists and you shouldn't feel the least bit bad about telling one of their reps to **** off if he shows up at your door trying to sign you onto one of these contracts. If you are signed on with one then take a good look at your gas bill and compare it to the actual rates I posted above because chances are you're getting screwed.

That's the thing, if you didn't have an ipad before, its totally worth spending the money on. However, if you own a 2, its not worth buying. I was more just commenting on how different the launches were.
How much weight would someone lose if any if they they drank like only pop a day compared to what they usually drank which is like 3-5
Just cut it off completely. You can lose a lot by cutting it off entirely. Making that choice was the best thing I've done. I dropped a lot, but I'm sure you'd drop a few pounds in a couple months.. do the math.. 150 calories x 4 = 600 calories ... 600x7= 4200 calories in one week.. compared to 1050..
Did anyone watch the smartest Canadian thing? How the **** did that weird awkward guy win the social category. ****ing mindblowing, that weird laugh and face he did when he talked about maybe he would make the finals and made the comparison to playoffs and Stanley Cup, I was watching it with my mother and we lost our **** laughing. I hope there is a gif of that, I know it's mean to make fun of people, but just the fact that he won social skills or whatever. Kills me.
Just went and browsed through the political forum. I need a shower. Holy ****, that place has gone to hell. It's like 4chan in there. *shakes head* I'm at the point of questioning Darwinian evolution after seeing some of those "people" in action.
