Should be Kostytsyn and Weber for Kostytsyn and Weber. TtHAT would be hysterical........and great for the Habs.

I'm hoping Hali isn't involved.

After vermette deal Nashville better not trade much more than a 3rd, and conditional pick is he resigns. Maybe predators toss in foss to or Jeremy smith

ESPN radio talking hockey?! Unless it's the Nashville station of ESPN radio?

Sounds like a questionable source.

I could understand AK but I don't see the need for Weber in Nashville. If Downie is worth a first, I can't see higher than a 2nd or 2nd round quality prospect for a rental AK.

Yeah, I'm not seeing it anywhere, including the MTL board.

Has ESPN ever broken a trade? Just curious.

What if Weber scores and Weber and Weber both get assists?! MADNESS

OT, I would like this deal for the Habs, not very familiar with Halischuk though.

It's there, it's in the non-credible rumour thread.

Really wish Sather would have made a bid for AK instead of all of this Nash nonsense.

I could see Nashville acquiring another D-man if they were planning to trade one of their current D-man for a forward (Hemsky?)

There's still plenty of time.

Would Rangers fans be willing to move St. Croix in this type of deal?

Torts would eat AK alive though, IMO.

It's a risk, but not a big one as he is a UFA, but I think Torts could bring something good out of him. To be honest, I don't know enough about St. Croix to say. I've only read things pro and con and have never actually seen the kid play, so don't feel comfortable answering that.

Why not? Nashville has a deep prospect pool and wants to win the Cup. The Sharks traded their 1st round pick the last 4 years in an attempt to go for it all. All their acquisitions have played big parts in them making pushes towards the Final.

2008: Brian Campbell
2009: Dan Boyle
2010: Drafted Charlie Coyle
2011: Brent Burns (pick along with Charlie Coyle)

I see nothing wrong with Nashville trading 1sts as long as these players make big impacts in getting them far into the playoffs.

I like it

I would prefer Blum but even if you take the prospect out of the equation, I would still take the pick.

This is certainly the year for Nashville to go all in. However, I would hate to lose Halischuk. The kid has 12 goals and is a +7 playing 3rd/4th line minutes. He also hustles every shift. AK would make us better, though.

Poile said the Gill deal had the potential to be something bigger, but couldn't come to terms. We think he was probably talking about AK

Wow, hadn't heard that. Can you find that specific quote?

And I agree, NSH has no need for Yannick Weber. None. Ellis and Blum are better versions of him on the right side.

i heard it, it was part of a radio interview the day after the Gill trade, discussing the deadline in general.

That said, I don't buy this rumor. There may be elements of it that are true, but with Nashville's scouts coming into to town tomorow, the timing seems off.

Plus, as mentioned, no use for Y. Weber.
