Was a thread really started because Richards went out and ate some dessert with his teammates? That makes him a great leader? **** I take my good friends out and treat them to diner! I must be President material! Oh he also shares it with his dog

This thread is funny though

Also had a friends brother go to a Flyers open workout with the team before preseason started(not this year obviously), and he said Richy and Carts were the biggest d-bags ever. They wouldn't even talk to the young kids trying to get pointers from the pro's playing in their dream league. He did say though, Briere and Gagne were two of the nicest people he meet. They were both very willing to help the young guys out as much as possible. Again just another story from someones friend I know, but it seems like a common theme with them.

Who's the guy to the right? I recognize him so well but can't figure out who he is.

haha. I think this was from the 2004 WJC (or 2003?). So he would have his full head of hair here.

I love how people who don't like Richards pull up the same 2 pictures of Richards partying several years ago. Like he's the only hockey player to have drunk pictures of him on the internet, or the only player who parties.

I thought it would be a nice change from:
"Player X" is the first to reach [arbitrary number] in [arbitrary stat].

Anyone can go to NHL.com and judge a player based on stats.... I think we have a unique opportunity to judge a player on his willingness/tendency to share tasty delights with his teammates.

Looks like Richards has competition:

Higgins is eating dessert like crazy to regain weight after a staph infection.

This has got to be the worst premise for a thread I have ever seen in my four odd years here. I don't even know where I am right now.

Party lifestyle or not, I have always admired Richards despite that he played for a team I hated, and I would take him on my team in a heartbeat. He works his ass off and plays a gritty, admirable game.

Richards strikes me as the kind of guy that the Sharks should (have, before he went to LA) traded for.

The Ducks should trade for Carter. That'd be hilarious. Close enough to get the Jeff and Mike train rolling again. But playing for different teams.

Incorrect. The Internet is also quite aware that Seguin and Marchand party. But only those two in addition the Richards and Carter.

Would still love having Richards back sometime later in his career.
