How many years does be have on his contract?

Coaches usually get hired with three year contracts, so that's probably what it is.

Finding a coach who stays calm is extremely hard. It's much easier to turn pissed off in a leadership position when things go wrong then to stay patient and calm.

Now I'm not saying to Claude Julien it and never get pissed, but staying calm in the right situations and only using anger in extreme situations is the perfect combination in coaching that Deboer has.

PDR has been great. Dutch boy doing well in NJ, Grandpa Semak would be proud. Great for pending UFAs and great for organization as a whole to hopefully finally have stability.

Then he loses the last 5 games of the season and Lou replaces him with? Larry Robinson. Great.

With his excellent ties and love of skilled Russians, could we say that DeBoer is the anti-Cherry?

But then again, he still likes his bottom 6 filled with grinders and goons. Maybe not.

I have a lot of confidence in the Devils's chances for this season and the main reason is DeBoer. All season long this team has been a pain in the ass to play against aside from a couple of stinkers here and there. This team is in really good hands, no question about it.

Still not impressed with the 3rd period breakdowns, especially when the players say they understand.

But he has compliments from all the players and they obviously listen and respond to him and that is very important IMO. I think that part has a large amount to do with our success so far.
