Who would you want as GM/HC??

This season sure is not turning out like we thought it would. But I was curious if the Kings decided to fire DL and Sutter.

Who would you want as GM and as Head Coach going into next season??

Not even sure but would anyone want DL and Sutter back?

Maybe some fresh blood for HC. Doesn't matter as much, as long as the team is allowed to open up.

QFT, even on Bailey.

Unfortunately I can't see a scenario where Nill leaves Detroit, and Tippett is locked in in Phoenix.

That all said, I still want to stick it out with DL and DS for one more season. Yes, I said it, I'm not going to defend it because it's just my own personal opinion.

Stay with the current staff at least for another year and then reassess.

This is not a good time to change, imho. Let's the players off the hook and changes their perspective from "how can I do better right now" to "how do I play/fit in a new system" with a new coach / GM. The first is about winning. The second about learning. They've already learned enough. They need to start winning.

Jim Nill is the one. Doubt he leaves the Wings organization though. If so, he can choose whoever he wants to coach.

I still love Dean though!!!

I am not on the fire Dean bandwagon yet, but I am not too far off from considering it.

As for Nill, I would just offer to make him the highest paid GM in hockey But that is if I had AEG's money...

Bob B.

Jim Nill would be a truly genius hire as well.

I still want DL but I also like to read tedious books where you know the ending half way through but poor common sense makes you finish every last word. I want to see how the guy reacts. Time I've got plenty of, patience not so much.

I think Futa will make a good GM some day, but I am with TG on this one.

i agree 100%. give Deaner and Sutter a bit longer to mesh and figure things out. if things arent turned around by the end of next season, a serious rebuild is in order.

that would be pretty ironic...after 7 years he was fired in SJ and if he was fired next year that would make 7 years in LA. maybe 7 isnt his number!

That would be the single worst event to ever happen to this organization.

Jim's upward inflection never reaaly bothered me. I am more concerned with gas prices, the economy, Amelia Earheart's disapearance, and the death threats I get from the GEICO gecko.

Futa= Doug Wilson?

Interesting that you make that suggestion, that's what happened in SJ.

I'll also add that Ron Hextall would be a good replacement. After 7 years, all the Kings might need is a fresh set of eyes. Hextall was considered for several NHL team GM openings.

The Red Wings organization is run like a family from the top down. Nill has been with franchise for 18 years. If he wanted a GM job somewhere, he would have been gone already.
