At least it wasn't his left hand, you would think it would be worst if it was on his catching hand.

Also, don't trade for a goalie. This season is playing with house money anyways. Even with Anderson, playoffs was a bonus anyways. Besides, who knows, Lehner could always pull a Cam Ward like he did last year in Bingo. Not that I'm counting on it.

Mrs Anderson should be feeling guilty about this. She should have been making the chicken and of course she handles a knife better than Craig right?

Murray better be on the phones shopping for a goalie as early as tomorrow....

Haha! She still post on here under a different username?

As for the Kelly Clarkson, it's very fitting to the current situation, and the song is damn catchy!

I'm sure BM will be making some calls, but he'll only get a goalie if the price is right. There's no need to make any rash decisions.

One more thing.

Can anyone else see Alfie, Phillips and the rest of the old gang roll into a fetal position because of Hasek PTSD because of this situation?

Of course, this is the NHL, rather than the NFL or NBA, so perhaps he just likes lots and lots of fresh onions in his midnight omelette.
I was wondering that too. He has taken time off for "personal reasons". Gets streaky too. Hmmmmmmmm

Perfect chance for Lehner to get some serious experience. If he does well, let him keep playing until Andy gets back, if not Auld is perfectly capable of stepping in and bailing the kid out. Put the panic buttons away.

Athletes get paid millions of dollars, they need to always be cautious!!
This. I cringe every time I hear about a pro athlete getting a DUI too. Apart from the droves of gold-diggers that they could ask to perform menial tasks, they could certainly get a fan to drive them for their safety, or emply an intern that would work for nothing more than business connections and experience. Besides all that, they make more than enough money to have personal assistants or domicile attendants.

I am a construction management professional, but I would happily take a sizeable paycut to help local athletes with their day-to-day BS.

This is a huge blow to the team. As good as Spezza and Karlsson have been, Anderson has been just as good (if not better) consistently being a 3 star selection in about every 2 out of 3 games since late November.

This team is pretty bad defensively and he covers up a lot of mistakes made out there.

Now, having said all that this injury is coming at a good time for the team with Phillips, Cowen and Lee really starting to regain form. That's gonna help a ton. Auld has also looked better in his last couple starts.

The big X factor here is Lehner. His mediocrity has been well documented this season but we all know that this is a player that thrives under pressure and raises his game according to the stakes. Lets see what this guy can do. Give Auld the Bruins then see where Lehner is at. He needs an audition anyways to see if he's ready for a back up role next year. This is STILL a development year so I think some positives can come out of this. Don't bother with a stop gap goalie. Let this team just play.

We have a good cushion on 9th and the teams challenging for 8th are all stumbling so I still expect the team to make the playoffs. They probably only have to play .500 hockey down the stretch to do so.

I don't want to trade for any goalie. Keep going, if we make it - we make it. If we don't, we don't.

This is a less worse version than Hasek injuring his groin and going with the rookie Emery. THAT WAS OUR ****ING YEAR HASEK, **** YOU.

Lehner will have to do something special.

This is a disaster. This goalie curse just keeps getting worse.

It's okay everyone. We have Alex Auld...he will now transform into a legitimate number 1 starter and then when Andy is back, goalie controversy will be the headlines.

I guess Murray forgot to add in "plastic utensils mandatory" in the contract. Fail. -_-

Incorrect. The Sun is SPECULATING that the injury could be anywhere from 10 days to 8 weeks.

Let's all hope it's 10 days.

Blame this on his assailant. After a thorough examination of a virtual mockup of the alleged crime scene, I deduce this to be a defensive wound which occurred as he valiantly put up his right hand to protect his vital organs. Obviously the chicken had been feigning death while locked in the freezer. After it had thawed sufficiently still groggy and confused it spotted Andy's shiny dome. The chicken thought he was stealing her largest egg so it grabbed a knife and attacked poor unsuspecting Andy. It could have been far worse had Andy not bested her.

That is a massive gap there, I'd say it's going to be 2-3 weeks. Should see him again in mid March. BUT, he still may be able to play with the hand bandaged, he may just need to rest it, he may get treatment on it. We don't know, too early to tell...all speculation right now.

But with just 4 days until the deadline, BM cannot take ANY chances. He has to make a move.

Their front page "update" says "Update cut Andy could miss 8 weeks" and the updated article says this type of injury usually takes from 6 to 8 weeks.

It's still speculation but if they had to re-attach the tendons I'd guess much more than 10 days for a heavily working hand. Especially if as I'm guessing it's the tendons between the thumb and forefinger.
