Back on the ice. Crosby has been back on the ice like for months.
A finger is not like a head injury. It is fairly clear to determine the extent of a cut, and how fast it will be repaired. Concussions are more like invisible injuries, you can determine what the problem is but the recovery time is more difficult to determine
any connection between anderson getting suspiciously cut by himself on his right hand while being right handed, and lehner saying publicly at the beginning of the season that he will be hunting down anderson and not looking happy in bingo lately?
I wonder how the emergency procedure works for this? Does Anderson go to emerge and sit with a bandage on his hand for a few hours until he gets attention, or does he call the Sens and they make the "arrangements"
Sens have their own doctors, I assume that they just bandaged the cut so no infection happens and the Senators doctors checked out the extent of the injuries at own facilities
Sounds like this is just Lehner's audition for the Back-up job next season with Anderson back soon enough.
No audition, Lehner has not been good enough in the AHL this year (Possibly due to the team in front of him)), he will be in the AHL next year.
I know this may sound crazy but I would not mind taking a run at Gustafsson next year for back-up. Has shown flashes of brilliance and can be a number 1 for short periods of time

Are you for real??? I rather go with Auld over Gustafsson, thats for sure.
Aside from Lehner, who is your back-up? People here criticize Auld insanely on these boards and would not mind keeping him, but thats not the general consensus
I'm not down with Gustafsson either, but in my mind I've always found Allaire and Gustafsson to be a horrible fit. Gustafsson is not an Allaire style goalie, and the guy has been known to try and change a goalie's technique to fit his own style, instead of building off what a goalie already has style wise and making him better. Reimer is a perfect Allaire goalie, Gustafsson it can just hurt his performance I think, I can see him doing better elsewhere with his own goalie coach.

As a pure back-up role, sure. Kind of feels like Elliot where he should be a back-up and lack of a clear role hurts him. Give him someone where they have a reliable goaltending partner then it might work. Would not mind Gustafsson, truly.

I'm pretty sure Anderson went to a hospital, which is a public institution...

Of course. He had surgery though, which they would put in the hands of a specialist and involve hospital facilities.
MRI machines are not used 24/7. Professional sports teams pay the hospital to fire them up during off-hours when a player needs a scan.
It probably costs a fair amount of money to get that service.
Most MRI machines are run 24/7 about 5 days a week then 16 hours on weekends and players don't have to come in on ungodly hours. Its usually sometime in the afternoon.

I had an MRI a few weeks ago, 4:30 PM appointment. It was pretty sweet. I felt like a rockstar not getting the typical 11:45PM time slot.
But yeah, Mon-Fri, they're in use almost 24hrs/day.
