I think Anderson is done until the playoffs.

He should be done period then. Pretty stupid to start a goalie in the playoffs who hasn't played in 6-8 weeks.

Like I said, Lehner may get the ball here and never drop. If Lehner goes on the rest of the year playing like he has and carry's that into the playoffs, then what?

Nail, you want to admit now it might be a little more then a cut?

Anderson may end up losing his job because he injured himself cutting chicken. Crappy deal but that's all it takes for a young kid like Lehner to come in and perhaps take what he didn't deserve to lose.

Lehner obviously has to continue what he has done this year in the NHL and keep going with it but if Anderson is out for the season he is in trouble.

Good news is though he's been skating on his own! His finger injury appears to have had no effects on his legs. Phew.

Anderson says he has modified his blocker to be able to wear it but still can't hold a stick. Has been skating on his own the past few days

There is NO way Andy is losing his job for next year...he might end up starting few games (likely) or even become the backup but it would be beyond stupid to roll with Bishop and Lehner...two rookie keepers. Look at Toronto for an example of why that isn't a good idea As it stands now we are going with Andy and Bishop next year and Lehner will be in Bingo unless Lehner goes on a major tear and we end up with a Price / Halak situation but I doubt that will happen.

You can skate without arms too, doesn't mean he can hold a stick.

Either way I still believe this injury is worse than people want to or care to admit.

Well, that isn't exactly news. He could run a marathon, perform in a jazz-dance troupe and climb Mount Everest, but if he can't hold a stick, he's useless to the Sens.

So Lehner wins the Stanley Cup and he has to go back because he's a rookie? Honestly, people have their minds made up before the games are even played like they are mapping out their NHL 2012 game, trying to keep up their potential rating until he wins 10 straight Vezina's.

As for using Toronto as the example, the reason Reimer isn't playing well is because he's a ****** goaltender. Always was.

Yah I know, I was just commenting on it. Either way, Anderson may be out for the season.

If Lehner goes in and proves he is a big game goaltender at the NHL level now, he should be considered to start next year. There is no logical reason other than his contract to send him back if he keeps going like he is.

It's a lot more likely now with Anderson out though now isn't it?

Yesterday I was ripped apart for suggesting Lehner will be playing in the playoffs, like it had no chance of happening. Now it looks like he probably will be the goalie going into the playoffs considering Anderson doesn't know when he will play again.

We still have 6 weeks before the playoffs.

Probably seems a bit premature IMO.

8 weeks seemed like the extreme end of the prognosis.

Here's an idea: let's worry about next year after we're done THIS year.
Lots of games left to be played. No sense whipping ourselves up in NEXT year's goaltending depth chart when we still don't have a clue about THIS YEAR'S goalie situation.

I think this whole situation is a bit suspicious...

- We hear he cut his hand...
- Reports range from 10 days to 10 weeks
- We then here he had surgery but shouldnt be out long
- Next day we trade for a NHL ready goalie
- We then hear that Murray had been looking at a goalie but then Auld got stepped on in practice he decided to act
- Anderson wont get into details about what happened and no timeline for his return

Anybody think it may be worst case scenario and likely closer to 8 weeks ++, especially if there was nerve damage + Surgery??

Im hoping its not but who the heck knows

Anderson is out, Lehner is playing and winning. Not sure that's too complicated.

Basically what I have been saying the whole time.

I think Anderson may lose his job based on this exact situation if Lehner continues to play like he has.

Agree... 2 games is a small sample BUT last year he got his shot and ran with it... If he is playing well and winning...Anderson will be on a very short leash if/when he gets back... If he loses 1 or 2 he is done...

Then just let the #LEHNSANITY begin...

It is strange how we have gotten no real timetable on his return. It's a friggin' cut it's not like it serves the team to keep all of this a secret. The trade deadline has passed after all. Come on Murray.
