Glad to hear he's close to returning. Also very thankful to Bishop and Lehner for doing a tremendous job in relief. They were great.

Bishop was 2-0-2 with a .926 sv% and 2.16 GAA. If those were growing pains, I can't wait until he's stopped growing.

Definetly agree with above.

Yes Bishop has looked shaky at times, but at the end of the day he's been in net for four games and we've gotten 6 points out of it, and he's had great numbers!

No reason to whine too much. I am glad Andy will be back, but we've done just fine without him.

Senschirp and Ian Mendes confirming that Andy will start tomorrow night against Montreal, Bishop will dress as the backup.

I thought you weren't allowed to carry 3 goalies until the playoffs?

Was I just dreaming that? LOL

Not 100% but I am pretty sure you are allowed to after the Trade Deadline

You're allowed to carry 3 goalies so long as you don't go over the 23 man roster counting skaters and goalies.

Remember when the wings had joseph, legace, and hasek? The hockey news predicted 25-30 wins for each goalie. i remember going..."uhhh, so detroit is gonna win 86 games this year?"

4)foligno
5)greening
6)smith
7)neil
8)condra
9)turris
10)butler
11)daugavins
12)konopka
13)o'brien
14)klinkhammer
IR: Winchester
IR: regin

1)karlsson
2)gonchar
3)kuba
4)gilroy
5)phillips
6)cowen
7)Carkner

1)anderson

Total: 24 UNLESS anderson will be taken off IR and klinkhammer/auld/obrien/daugavins gets sent down.

I would hope either daugavins goes down(he sucks...10 points in 59 games and he has no specialty? wooww) or auld (detroit sent conklin down for macdonald so why not?)

It doesn't apply in the playoffs. It does after the deadline from what i remember/have heard. Unless you're allowed to expand after the deadline but are only allowed 4-5 callups?

I'm still pretty sure you have to wait UNTIL the playoffs...

EDIT: no you don't i was wrong. Disregard. (thanks canadianhockey)

Seems a bit risky to put him in such a crucial game. Hopefully he pulls through.

It is either Montreal, or throw Andy against a red hot Pittsburgh on his first game back.

Side question about regin. I remember doing the math on regin's recovery time and if recovery went as normal, he should be clear to play by mid april. At the time we weren't thinking playoffs so we said "done for the year"...but in theory, is he a possibility if the sens go deep and hit injuries? Would he be good to go in 1 month? 2 months? It was supposed to be 6 months out. It's already been...4 right?

I'd rather not be stuck playing a player that hasn't played in months, but i was thinking if we're in the third round and hit injuries...who would you rather have between regin or petersson for example? I think regin...because at that point, petersson wouldn't have played in a couple months either, and regin is bigger with more nhl experience.i was just thinking about all this and realize chances are we don't go far enough for regin's recovery to be a factor.

Anyone heard ANYTHING on regin?

If I remember correctly they shot him down for the season when he opted for surgery.. prob for the best.

From NHL.com:

Quote:
23-man Roster
There may be a maximum of 23 players on each Club's playing roster at any one time from the commencement of the NHL regular season through the trade deadline. Prior to the start of the season, each Club must submit to the NHL its "Opening Day Playing Roster" which shall be comprised of not more than 23 players. Each Club must have a roster of at least 20 players, composed of 18 skaters and two goaltenders. Players on Injured Reserve do not count in the 23-man limit.
We can have more than 23 guys because it is after the deadline.

But wasn't that when we were "rebuilding" and weren't expecting to make the playoffs and our season was expected to end the first week of april. In theory we could be going til june. That's another 2 and a half months from now which is a boatload of extra time to recover from an injury and make himself available.

I'm not holding my breath or anything...just think it would be funny if we're in the 2nd or 3rd round and hit injuries and regin plays after we thought he was done for the year.
