Seriously, what is with the Haley infatuation some people have? Haley is physical, but doesn't score much (sorry, 8 goals and 15 points in the AHL is not impressive), isn't great on d and takes bad penalties.

If Cizikas is not a better player than Haley, we have all been seriously overrating his potential.

a little surprised they did not call Ulstrom in. I am assuming Cizikas will be either C/LW, but I am thinking Bailey will be out with the bad back and Cizikas will center the 3rd line.

I am so excited to watch this kid play, I'm a huge fan of his style and I think it is just what our soft team needs. Haven't been this excited for a call up since we called up Martin and he stuck

I think Ullstrom is pretty much a LW now, until Rolston's 5 million comes off the books, he'll be in bport.

Look for the foward lineup to be this next year banking on no trades

MM-JT-Petrov
Grabs-Bails -Okposo
Ully-Frans-Nino
Haley-Reasoner-Martin

That lineup has Grit up the wazooo

Isles should call up Haley too.

NYR are dirt merchants. Can nearly guarantee that someone will try and shove Hamonic's chin strap up into his nose.... that classy bunch that they are.

Martin had better be ready to pummel Richards or Gaborik in response.... thus, displacing their nose and evening things up.

It's not just Haley, the Isles desperately need any physical D-man to protect Tavares and other forwards - "goons" if you will. Anyone, like Gillies or Haley.

Reasoner and Rolston contribute NOTHING to the team. This excuse about Haley not scoring much, bad d and stupid penaltis is, quite frankly, bull****. We all know Haley isn't being brought up so Wang can save a few dollars.

Haley would give the Islanders a spark, he would give the forwards more room, he would protect players, I can go on and on.

Hmm, not bad. Glad to see Nabby back. And although I still am wanting to see Haley, I wonder if there is any chance DiBenedetto makes an NHL appearance this year?

This why I would rather Hammer come back the next game.....The Kid is to intense and he probably wont care that his nose was shatterd....I love that about him but hes also too important to us...

We want Haley here Because WE ARE THE SOFTEST TEAM IN THE NHL, thats why we want Haley here.

We want Haley here because he will bring energy to this lackluster boring team, he will protect and STANDUP FOR HIS TEAMMATES.
He will actually look to make a big hit. This team is sevearly lacking in the physical department its embarrassing and pathetic.

We dont want Matt Martin fighting every night and fighting all this teams battles because the rest of the team is filled with soft players.

Im sick of our team being so damn soft. Enough already! This team has Martin and thats it! THERE IS NO REASON HALEY SHOULD NOT BE HERE ON THE 4TH LINE.
You laugh that he has 8 goals and 15 points, well in my mind thats pretty damn good for a 4th liner. Another point you refuse to look at is Haley will be on the 4th line. He is not there to "score goals". He is there to make big hits, bring energy, toughness, defend teammates ect and thats all.

How you fans can put up with a lineup that is the sofest in the NHL is beyond me. Will we really lose anything if we remove one of the useless 4th line players and play Haley there instead? At least he brings an element to this team that we are lacking.
OUR 4TH LINE AS A WHOLE HAS 3 ********** POINTS ON THE YEAR! Put Haley on the 4th line he cant be worse and he will atleast provide toughness, energy, big hits and will fight for the honor of his teammates. Our 4th line is useless in every way no reason Haley should not be on it.

The Rangers are one of the toughest teams in the NHL and our RIVALS and Haley is not called up? Pathetic. They have dirtbags on that team and if they try anything dirty, guess what? We are screwed bc of the soft lineup we have out on the ice. The Rangers have about 6 or so guys who fight and and start s***. We have 1, just utterly pathetic. I am almost hopeing the Rangers run us out of our own building just so the moron Snow actually brings up some toughness.

Martin better not even try to pummel Richards or Gaborik if you want our team getting out alive tomorrow night.
If Martin tries that the Rangers have Stu Bickle,Mike Rupp, Brandon Prust, Brian Boyal, Dubisnski that will go after JT and everyone else and our guys will be picking up their teeth from the ice. We are so out gunned in the toughness department it is actually starting to become funny.

DiBenedetto is an RFA after this seaon, I'm wondering if he's going to be resigned.

He will. He's been playing well in Bridgeport and he was sidelined for 20+ games due to a concussion.

Does he have any NHL potential? Or is he stuck in the AHL for his career.

You'd figure on this team, most AHL players have a chance to play in the NHL. I'm just wondering how they are deciding because most of the call ups this year I wasn't too familiar with. Those who I thought should have been up, weren't.

Cizikas is as big as Haley (which isn't really big) and he has a rep as a tough player, a point getter and a leader. If you want toughness you should be happy Cizikas is coming up but instead you're complaining.

I think he can be an NHLer. I feel he can be an Avery/Desjardins type of player that can be a pest and get on peoples last nerve. He's got the ability to go into the dirty areas, I just think he needs to bulk up strength wise a little bit more and then he can make the team. But he's definitely improved from when he first started in the AHL mentally/physically.

Methinks, DiBo would've been called up earlier had it not of been for his concussion, because he was really lighting it up over there before he got hurt. I would like to see him get called up for a couple of games though before the season ends. Always had a soft spot for him in hopes he can earn a full time spot.

This logic is ridiculous. Cizikas and Haley are 2 completely different players. Haley's purpose is to bring energy and protect our players if they're getting pushed around. Cizikas' purpose is to be a heart and soul guy who will do anything to get to the puck, score a few goals, and set up teammates.

teams aren't going to not hit John Tavares because Michael Haley is on the bench. It sure didn't stop them when guys like Haley, Gillies, Konopka & Martin were in the lineup.

Cizikas has been playing the hockey of his life in Bridgeport. I can see him coming in and actually getting some points, then immediately sent back to Bridgeport when Bailey is healthy. I can't wait to see him on the Island, the kid deserves it. Very happy for him and I'm sure all his Sound Tiger buddies are going to miss him for a while

Have you seen him play? And I mean really play. Like 4 seasons with Bridgeport play? If you say yes, then i will respect your opinion but politely disagree. If your answer is no, then you really need to back out of this conversation.

Go see Cizikas play. Get to say you were at the 1st NHL game of a guy who will play 20 years in the league.

BTW, does anyone recall that in JT's 1st prospect camp he was put on a line (by Gordon) between Martin and Rahkshani?

Love Cizikas. Glad to have him up. But please send us Haley too and replace Rolston with him.
