No way is Stoll a top line anything other than faceoff man, then run to the bench to get a real player on the ice kind of guy... Sure he can do it in shootouts, but put a defenseman on the ice and he can't hit a barn. $4.5 million is laughable. I wouldn't pay him that with a gun to my head.

Just got his favorite roommate back. I am sure those guys are incredibly relieved and overjoyed. Can't get much better than this for them, especially Carter

Haven't read through most of the posts but am I the only one who thinks this will bite us in the @ss eventually. Like this year! I'm willing to bet our offense does not change!

This year is really the draft of defensemen. Which we have plenty of. So all things considered...we might be in better shape to get a good forward in the following draft, which is supposed to be a little more rich in terms of offensive talent.

Did anyone else hear Craig Button ranting about the trade on NHLN? He doesn't like the trade for LA because he thinks the Kings problem is they don't have enough defensemen.

I know he hates LA, but jeez he sounds like an idiot.

On the other hand, Mckenzie said a lot of nice things about Carter, he seemed to like the trade from the Kings perspective.

I like the trade. Like others, I'm sad to see Jack go if only because of his display of loyalty to the organization and its fans by signing that contract. That being said, at least on paper, this team should score some goals. Even if they don't come together this year, whoever is in the front office running this team and coaching it next year certainly will have some talent on the roster. I see it as a win/win. If the team fails to gel, then DL and staff get the heave ho. I imagine a more progressive GM and coaching staff will come aboard and we'll finally see the restraints taken off these guys offensively.

Craig Button is a dimwit. There's a reason he's been unemployed as an NHL exec since he was fired from his GM post in Calgary, and mind you, he was a terrible GM at that.

On TSN,
Button questioned our defensemans ability to get the puck to the forwards. He named every single one of them...with exception of Doughty

Love this trade. It's always sad to see a player go, but we need scoring. Our D will be fine. I wish JJ the best of luck....what's all this talk about Brown being traded? If he goes I'll be pissed. I think some of us take Brown for granted.

Well, two weeks ago Sutter said the same. He said that it was one of the main reasons, why Kings didn't have as many scoring chances as they should have.

Excellent Jeff Carter/Lombardi article:

from Yahoo Sports, I totally agree that Carter needs to prove that he has matured and gets back to his Canadian roots of having the dream to win the Stanley Cup, instead of partying still:

Button failed to mention Doughty as part of the group. Either he forgot him or figured it wasn't necessary to mention him. Sutter saying that must mean hes not confident in their ability to move the puck which I find odd

The most funniest thing about this trade is how fast Carter gave a quote about the deal. When he got traded to the Jackets he hid out in some jungle in Zimbabwe until the Jackets GM went on a rescue mission to find him, then a week later he gave an announcement lololol.
