I will never understand how detroit does it, Honestly a bigger mystery than the Bermuda Triangle is the Wings.

Saw this gem on Twitter:

Basically, the Kings traded Brayden Schenn, Wayne Simmonds, Jack Johnson, a 1st and a 2nd for Mike Richards and Jeff Carter.

Gagne hits net 8X in row plus Carter trade info:

link to all kings stories, including Carter for JJ trade talk and other articles/stories,

Gagne has skated everyday, hit net 8X in a row from right circle,

which is better than our other forwards can seemingly do, LOL!

I still wish we could have gotten a true winger, such as Ruutu,

cuz Carter is a center as is Nash, and we need a left winger badly...

Now they're saying DL is throwing in a prospect? This is why I always wish to see a GM on the way out be shown his walking papers before he kicks holes in the walls prior to the eviction.

For a 40+ goal scorer and someone who could be a 30 goal scorer.

.... Not exactly a given that one's better then the other.

For one of the most fearsome 1-2 punches the NHL has seen in the last few years. I'm fine with that.

never understood why Kopitar was never tried at Left Wing, considering he has a left handed shot,

maybe he could be like a Luc Robitaille on the Left Wing?

Lets see how the team performs with a little bit more depth and a new system before we start blaming the players. It's kind of hard to score when your 2nd line is made up of players like King and Nolan.
We started this season with six former 30-goal scorers (Gagne had 40 but we all knew he wouldn't match that) and three former 20-goal scorers (admitedly two were Hunter and Moreau). That, and we had Kyle Clifford, Trevor Lewis, Brad Richardson, Andrei Loktionov, Scott Parse, Dwight King, Jordan Nolan, Colin Fraser, and Kevin Westgarth competing for the other spots. That's 18 NHL-capable forwards. How can you possibly equip a team with better depth than that? This isn't a rose-colored-glasses perspective, nobody could have predicted the Kings' offense would be this bad, even the most cynical on this board.

The players have been underachieving as a whole and for whatever reason did not respond to the coaching change. If they don't respond to one of the core players getting shipped out, then something is seriously wrong and it's not something that firing a GM in bringing in a new set of personnel is going to change.

When this is official, can someone scream to me really loudly that the trade went down... I take telegrams too.

Despite Jack being one of my favorite Kings I am all for tading him. I just don't like to see Dean switch his strategies every 2 years. His strategy failed in the offseason and he's putting us further in the hole to save his ass. He's basically thrown away 6 years worth of developing and and upcoming first round draft pick simply to have a possibility of a future NHL job.

I'm going to miss JMFJ, especially since he really wanted to be here. That will teach other players not to take a home team discount. Damn.

JJ + Bernier + Brown + Pick for Carter + Nash?

I don't buy it. I doubt Lombardi is that desperate. Don't regard TFP with much more than a grain of salt.

article on Nash,Carter, JVR in trade talks:

looks like Rangers or Sharks most likely to get Nash, if he moves soon, while Kings more likely to get Carter or JVR, not really new news but interesting to me:

I completely agree with your stance on Dean, it was my biggest fear going into the deadline. Desperate men do desperate things.

That's not even true. Next years draft was always on the table as the irrelevant one. That's the one you trade away when you make the push and the whole point of development is to allow for a trade. That's why you have VV, or AM, or Hickey so that guys like JJ could be moved for what you don't have.

The strategy has been unchanged. The team is still predominantly made up of Kings draftees and picks.... Now of that means you can't make a trade if needed..
