If there's one word Johnson uses to describe himself its "Proud."
You won't get sulking out of him, you'll get a competitive hard-working player with some pretty good skills. Like other kings fans have said, if you slap a letter on him and put him in a leadership role you'll be very happy with him. Whether he wanted to be traded to Columbus or not, the minute he touches down in Ohio he'll be proud to be a member of the Blue Jackets and will strive to be your best defensemen, and best player.
Just wanted to say it is hard to see JJ go. Been defending him for along time on HFBoards.
He's a good add and I imagine will be your best Dman instantly. He makes bone head plays but he has gotten better every year. Hope that the shackles are lifted and he can really show his offensive skills.
Guy has always shown good character, get used to him being much maligned by ignorant posters.
One story I like is that he never leaves his spot on the ice until after the color guard has completely finished and leaves the ice.
Good post.
I think Carter just needs a change of scenery and now a lot of pressure will be off of him. Good luck to you guys.
I like, but don't love this trade. There are other players I wanted, but I think Johnson and a first round pick is good value for Carter. Does anybody else think that Johnson and Moore could be a good defensive pairing in a year or two? For some reason I think they would be a good defensive pairing.
If it is this years, we could use it and the pick for Nash, hypothetically and the 2nd from Phoenix to get a second 1st in the top 5 potentially.
If LA misses playoffs it is next years pick regardless.
We can still trade it though. Now, maybe teams won't want it as much, but it still can be traded. Or maybe we can trade it (if it is a 2013 first round pick) and our first round pick next year to move up if we aren't picking first overall in the 2013 draft.
Not getting a Bernier back in this trade. I have to think they are looking one if they are trading Nash.... Which kind of leaves NYR out of the picture. Right?
I like the trade, don't care what the mains say.
Yea we lost a little bit through this whole Carter situation, but I think we had to take the risk with Carter and I think we came out ok not great or even great but "ok".
edit: interesting not looking at fixing the goalie situation. "right now"

I think you're onto something. I definitely think a goalie is part of a Nash trade. SJ has netminders.

Scott Howson just said they are not looking to acquire a starting goaltender for the rest of the season, so I'd say it doesn't matter.
Like the deal. Glad I got to meet Carter and get his autograph hours before he was traded.
