I think I'm in the minority here, but I don't want to give them up. I would rather horde them and use the long term approach of using the draft and building long term. Of course if we get a too good to be true deal come along I wouldn't mind making a deal with them. Just in my personal opinion I would want to just use all of them and progress said players into NHLers. Think it would be a really unique way of building the team, and can be extremely successful.

What do you guys think?
I agree. If a good deal comes along for Suter, a Number 1 goalie, or something else good, go for it. Otherwise I wouldn't mind just using them to draft prospects. With two 1sts and four 2nds they are all high picks, so whoever it is will have real good potential and should make draft day a lot more fun.

here is what i think will happen at the draft:
1st overall - Yakupov , Columbus takes the best available player
2nd overall - best available D, because Edmonton is stacked with Forwards
we will have a top 10 pick for sure so if TB gets the 3rd overall or higher draft Mikhail Grigorenko, if not try to trade our 1st rounder + 2nd rounder for the 3rdoverall, or just draft Alex Galchenyuk.
Andrei Vasilevski is projected to go ~25 overall, but he is Russian so he'll drop to us(30th)and we'll get him, or trade a low pick and Detroit's pick and move higner to get him.
i would expect TB to take Nikita Gusev early in the second round, then we take Andrey Makarov, the rest picks may be traded for a D(or rights to a D - Wideman, Suter etc.) or we pick some more prospects.
I would expect TB to try to get Grigorenko because we have Kucherov and we'll certainly get Gusev - they have great chemistry playing together and will form our top line for years to come. i think there is no doubt that We will take one of Makarov or Vasilevski or both

You seem to like Russians
If we get as low as top 3 we will definitely use the pick to draft Murray or Dumba.
For the years 1990 to 1999, only 1/4th of 2nd round picks made NHL careers for themselves.
I don't know the stats for this past decade, which I would expect to be higher results, as scouting as come a long way since then, but the safest course of action would be to trade those picks soonest and get guys whose outcomes are more certain.
Or, if we still have this picks on draft day, trade some of the later 2nd rounders down, especially if the drop isn't tremendous.
oh, sorry about that if i knew i would have picked different name, you can differ us by the avatars(i think?).
about the draft - SY may be may be tempted in taking Grigorenko because, as i said he and Gusev and Kucherov have great chemistry, although i agree that defense is more pressing matter than offense.
If Kucherov is worth a 2nd then Gusev is also worth a second - i think we should take him early because Washington and Detroit will want him too
I wouldn't mind sending some of them off for a young number 1 goalie, or trade for Suter's rights like others have posted. But I wouldn't be against just drafting with them or using them to move up in the draft from either ours, or Detroits pick.

Thanks for the welcoming
You're fine. If you are going to be named after someone from here, LightningStrikes is a good guy, so it's not a bad choice. Welcome!
I don't think Yzerman will try to recreate that line. You almost never see GMs try to put back together lines that worked in juniors. They'll all develop at different rates, and maybe into different players. It's hard enough to predict where 1 player will be a couple years down the road.
Gusev has been passed over in the past 2 drafts, so I'm not sure if he'll be a 2nd round pick. He's definitely got a lot of attention this season being in the spot light with Russia at the WJC and Super Series.
A) Keep all the picks. Depending where we pick take BPA with ours and then grab either Vasilevski(if he's there) or BPA. With our lowest 2nd take either Gillies or Subban, next pick take BPA, third pick take Gusev or Makarov. After that go wild.
B)Trade Detroit's first and 1 or 2 2nds for Schneider's rights then go from there.
I personally prefer to keep the picks as I love following a prospects development path.
