Hopefully Couturier rests up. It definitely seemed like he has been physically, and mentally tired lately. I'm counting the days until he fills out and gets some experience. He could be giving Giroux a run for his money as the #1 center.

My fear is that people will start to pick on him for the way he plays. He will eventually get a large contract because of his defensive play and he will most like score a lot of points too, but if he doesn't I seriously hope people dont run him out of town.

Even though I regard us as an impatient fanbase, generally speaking - I think most acknowledge Couturier seems like he will be quite the player in this league someday.
Could be to give him a rest. He hadn't scored in about 15 games.
Saunders said "he was a bit banged up" during the radio broadcast.
Meltzer was speculating on twitter after the Winnipeg game that he thinks the kid has hit the wall. probably would stand to reason for his offensive struggles of late.

He's also been playing with offensively challenged 4th liners for almost that entire stretch of time. No reason to expect much in that situation nor push him too hard.

He's clearly hit the wall. Pretty obvious to see in his form of late too. Thing is, sitting him won't do anything either. It's the mental side of things that hits the most. The best idea might actually be to send him down to his junior side and bring in a fourth liner along the lines of gaustad.

No, he'll be alright soon again. It's not like he's been a complete train wreck out there, being much too exhausted from his first NHL season to contribute in any way. He's still fairly solid defensively. The experience he'll be getting from this season will be very valuable, no need to make such a drastic move.
