That's not gonna happen. NFL contracts are a joke, just look at what the Colts are able to do to MVP, future Hall of Famer, Peyton Manning.

Fehr's background with MLB would lead to more player friendly contracts. Following the NFL's lead is the exact opposite of that.

Well, I've said I want Avery and Brooksie is saying the Rangers are thinking about putting him on re-entry waivers at noon saturday, the deadline for him to play again in the NHL this season. Apparently if he goes unclaimed, he'll be put back on regular waivers and then back to the AHL.

If claimed on re-entry, the claiming team (And the Rangers) would be hit with $209,460 salary cap charge for the remainder of the season.

http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.ph...medium=twitter

If the Sharks want him (which I suppose they don't, but I do and at least one Sharks "Star" supposedly does), they need to dump an NHL contract and then put in a claim if he does hit re-entry waivers. If he is put on re-entry waivers on noon saturday, that waivers would expire on noon monday, so I guess the Sharks could trade away an NHL contract sometime before noon monday (i.e., the trade deadline) if they wanted to put a claim in.

I realize it's probably not happening, but sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

How can you want Avery in teal?

Willie Mitchell signed a 2 year 7mil extension (3.5mil per).

Hemsky is apparently deciding on whether or not he wants to sing a 2 yr 10mil deal that the Oilers have offered him. He may be 'off the market' as well.

Only reason he doesn't take that is because he wants to play for a cup. Otherwise, he's an idiot.

I've already explained this in this thread, so I don't want to get into it too much, but he's got tremendous work ethic, a relentless forecheck, that "Steve Ott" type we need, and IMHO, I think he still has NHL hockey left in his career. Plus Andy Strickland said a Sharks "star" advocated for bringing in Avery and that the vets could handle him.

Another stupid non-UFA signing by DW. Could have had him but instead we signed Huskins and Wallin. Scared off by the concussion history but he's turned out just fine.

I thought the 2-year term was the sticking point for DW. He only wanted to offer 1. Who knows. I shouldn't bring it up. Hate rehashing things.

I was fine w/ Wilson not wanting to sign Mitchell to a multi-year deal w/ the guy coming off of a concussion...he's one of the lucky ones who seems to be OK now.

Wilson did the same thing w/ Gagne and I'm glad he passed on him too, just turns out he was right to not sign Gagne.

Win some / lose some...I'm fine with his reasoning behind these two.

From Spectors Hockey: Pierre LeBrun reports if a team were to offer Leafs a first round pick for Grabovski, they'd think long and hard about it.

I know it would suck giving up a 1st for a 'rental', but I'd seriously consider moving the Sharks 1st + Mitchell/Ferriero/other not good prospect for Grabs.

As bummed out as I am about not getting W. Mitchell, good point about Gagne. Vlasic and Mitchell cleaning up Boyle and Burns' messes?

@dantencer There it is. Hemsky takes the 2 years and 10 million to stay.

One more guy off the market.

Will help the Nash sweepstakes a bit, but I wanted nothing to do with Hemsky anyway.

I don't know why, but that sounds nutty.

Per Kypreos - Zidlicky has been asked to waive his NTC to go to New Jersey.

Per the Devils beat writer, Foster might be going back to Minn.

From Nick Kypreos
#SNtrade #Wild Zidlicky was asked to wave no-trade clause today for what's believed to be a move to the #Devils. Its appears to be imminent.

Agreed Grabs would be a good addition. If all it takes is a first I'd much rather DW do that than the sorta blockbuster it'd take for Nash.
