It's really sad, he was my childhood hero. I remember watching him game in and game out being the best player on the ice when I was a kid living in Dallas. The older I get the more disillusioned I get with the man.

_It's brilliant that he has opinions about the game and the current players and has the balls to speak his mind. And the deal is madness TBF..

He doesn't have to be so rude, though.

Modano's twitter a prime example of, "Don't meet your heroes."

Was Sakic as dominant as Benn is? I never really got to see much of him until the tail ends of his career.
Even at the tail end of his career, Sakic was better than Benn.

Pretty sure they were joking about the Benn > Sakic talk. hairylikebear got the ball rolling with some crazy talk, and it kind of snowballed from there, lol.
No one here thinks Benn is in any way better than Sakic.
At least.....I hope not.

That's something people on the official board would say.

Well obviously he's not better. Sakic is one of the best players this league's ever seen.
Really the only similarity I see is their shots, and that's only if Benn starts using it more in games. Both just so deadly and quick, but Sakic's release just seemed more polished and sneakier, I guess.

Oilers finally score. 2-1 Yotes with a little more than half a period to go.

They're definitely pushing for the division at this point. Insane considering how inconsistent they were earlier this year.

It's not like they have to trade him though. He's still signed for another 6 seasons.

Yep. If he wants to play hardball, just keep him. He clearly doesn't want to be traded that badly.

SJS is down 2-0 to nashville already... if they continue to freefall like they are they could end up outside the playoffs somehow

LA looking pretty good so far vs Chicago. Still tied 0-0. Turned on Sharks game after it went 2-0, but Preds have dominated since I've turned it on. Imagine it was the same before.

All I care about is LA losing. LA is really the only realistic game to we have to worry about. We're better then Calgary and Colorado, though Colorado has looked great since Downie came.

If Phoenix keeps winning and San Jose keeps losing, we'll have just as big of a fight with them as we do LA. Plus we still have three games against the Sharks.
Niemi just got pulled in the first. 3-1 Preds.

I think San Jose losing is a good thing and not really a problem. We just have to step up and beat them to take advantage.
