As long as we win our games, I don't care who else makes it in.

James Neal is now almost as good as Jeff Carter.

Congratulations to James; it's a big deal no matter who else is on your team. Especially in this era.

He becomes the first Stars draftee to hit 40 since Iginla if I'm not mistaken.

Damn, Smitty. I wasn't watching the shot clock on that one. Some guys want to make the playoffs I guess.

Only reason I saw it is cause the Jackets beat writer was talking about setting a franchise record in shots. Crazy.

I'll be cheering for the Yotes just cause it would be hilarious to see Phoenix win the Cup then be forced to move.

I don't even think we've had a game this season where all our defensemen have combined for eight shots.

Way to go Neal. He was always one of my favorite players even after getting traded.

I got to see him play in the playoffs last year in TB when he just turned and fired on net in OT to win Game 4.

vs Tampa Bay.
Grossman(n)-1, Robidas-3, Daley-2, Souray-3, Goligoski-5 = 14

We had 10 shots tonight from our defensemen. That was easy.

No idea how Souray got 5 through all the shin pads that conspire against him.

By the way...interesting quotes from Glendale Mayor...

Quotes from @NHLwiki on twitter.

Quote:
#NHL *News*-- Glendale Mayor Scruggs regarding #Coyotes ' We have a $20M plugged in for next year, I will not support that budget. We were told we were this close to deal last year so we put up $25M believing we won't spend it. And here we are 1 year later, 2 months from having to pay. No Mr.Hulsizer, Nor anybody else, no deals, no nothing! so we have a problem. We have stuck by the NHL, we have helped them get TV rights for the west coast. Given the stress that our budget is under. We need a payment plan. We've never been allowed to be a part of any negotiation. The NHL and Mr.Bettman have led us to this terrible point we're at today. We have $20M in an escrow acct, that we can't get out without their permission. If we can pay them $5M instead of 20, all the problems we're fearful of,can go away. It's their problem, the NHL mislead us, and they can't do that to our city''
Basically, Glendale's Mayor feels mislead and betrayed by the NHL & will not approve anymore budget for team.

Did anyone expect them to fork over another 20+million?

Sounds like a preemptive CYA political move. Which is rather fitting.

Really want to see how the NHL responds.

Writing is on the wall that we've played our last game against the Yotes in Glendale.

How about a potential St. Louis / Phoenix playoff matchup though? Tip vs. Hitch...
