The idea of trading for a dman on the blue jackets is unsettling.

$3 million for all that term, who moves out? Or do we just push back all of our upcoming kids?

I personally wouldn't mind adding Methot, pending price obviously. $3M isn't too bad, and I always thought he was the most solid and consistent of the Jackets' defensemen. Although I agree adding a puck-mover would be more ideal.

How is Methot's physicality?

I haven't paid any attention to Peckham at all this year except when he was putrid. Would he be an improvement?

Is Methot capable of becoming a better player still? I know nothing about him.

I haven't watched much of Columbus so I can't say TBH, that said Peckham was far from physical this season.

I think I just don't like Peckham and that's why I'm so open to seeing him go somewhere else.
He hasn't gotten my attention except for awful plays all year. Nothing at all.
I'd take a Peckham for almost anyone swap. I don't want to bring up anyone from the AHL yet. I don't feel like anyone down there is prepared for the big show.

Marc Methot

ASSETS: Has outstanding size and defensive acumen. An underrated fellow, he shows great commitment to playing a sound, stay-at-home game, rarely making mistakes in his own end. Displays leadership qualities.

FLAWS: Lacks the offensive ability to put up points on a consistent basis in the NHL. Doesn't use his large frame enough to intimidate the opposition.

CAREER POTENTIAL: Defensive defenseman with size.

Say LA would do Gilbert for Brown as the rumor says, I really like Gilberts play this year and we badely need sold dman but what if we trade gilbert then package some you guys for a dman like bogosian of somethin..so

Gilbert for Brown
then Paajarvi + for bogosian in the offseason then next year

Hall-Gags Hemsky
Brown-Nuge-eberle
Smyth-Horc-Jones
Eager-lander/belanger-Petrell

Whitney-Petry
bogosian-smid
potter or a FA vet-sutton

Thats a pretty solid team to me top to bottom.

Straight up Peckham for Methot, I'll take it. Sutton and Smid can handle it. I think.
The way Eager and Hordichuk have played (when they get ice time) makes me think it'd be a worthwhile trade.
Doubt Columbus takes it though.

There she is! Although, I must note, her sex appeal is remarkably higher as a red head.

Yep, Peckham sucked this season. All he seemed to do was yap and not drop the gloves. I don't know if it was because of the coaching staff forcing him to change his style to become more restrained or something but I don't think he fits here any longer. Both he and Barker need to go.

If you really think that we can get the Jets to agree to that...
Absolutely without fail every day of the week. So no, it won't happen. Much as I'd like it to.

Bogosian isn't available unfortunately and if he was, what it would take to get him just isn't worth it IMO

Was totally calm
I just can't see the Jets trading him. I'd love to. I'd trade our first, Paajarvi and one of Pitlick, Hamilton, etc. I'm willing to give up a lot.
But they wouldn't at all.

FIND ANOTHER YOUNG DMAN TO GO AFTER THEN..
and yes if we traded our first, pajaarvi and pitlick they would give us bogosian

Why are you capslocking over this?

Which other young defenders would be available that are worth that package?
Can we find one with number one potential who would rather have our first next year?

I think we're doing too much hoping here. We'll have to groom our prospects to make up for the lack of a true number one.

I think Kevin Cheveldayoff would also give every single Oiler fan $500 in pocket cash to compensate for the uproar....

Seriously, Bogosian is not worth a lick of what you mentioned.

I mentioned it. haha
I also believe we have enough prospects that it would be worth it (I haven't watched many Jets games. I am going off of what Jets fans have been saying on this website).
I'd say those 3 parts are worth it for Edmonton to get a number one d-man

That would require looking at Tobias Enstrom, not Bogosian.

Like I said, I'm going off of what I've read. I'd gladly taking either of those two.

Enstrom, Bogosian... hell why don't we just cut to the chase while we are fantasizing and go for Karlsson and Weber as well.

Isn't it obvious? Greed is one of the seven deadly sins....
