Lets just say the asking price for Brown is Gilbert and the asking price for Methot was Peckham and a 2/3 pick(have no idea what his value is). I think I might do it These moves would allow you to move Hemsky for long pondered 1st+Blum. Run with this for the rest of the year.

Hall Gagner Eberle
PRV/Omark RNH Brown
Smyth Horcoff Eager
Petrell Belanger Jones
Hordi
Lander sent down.

Smid Petry
Whitney Potter
Sutton Methot
Barker(going nowhere)

DD
Khabi(going nowhere)

At the draft trade Nashville's 1st + for a young PMD. Draft Forsberg(sp?).

Anyone else starting to get the feeling they are sitting Jones because he is being moved. He had just played his best couple of games in a long while now he sits for 2 games. Yes I know they won and played well, just starting to get a feeling.

Man, I'd love for Dustin Brown. Always loved his game. I can picture a line of Brown-Nuge-Eberle. sexy.

With that said, we can't be moving out NHL bodies from our backend, not named Barker.

If Tambo could pull off Gilbert for Brown, do it. He is a leader, both in the room and on the ice. His physicality would be a great addition to the top 6. He is familiar with Smyth and Teubert, which doesn't hurt. I don't care if it hurts our back end. It would be worth keeping fingers crossed that Potter returns to his early season form for next year.

I would move any player not named Eberle, RNH or Hall for Brown. He would provide some of the needs this team needs to address in the off season.

i really hope they make a deal to bring in a complete S$%t distruber. I like Eager and his game, i also like what hordi has brought the last few games but we need a Boll or someone like that so when PRV gets blatently kneed we arent looking around at the ref, so when gagner gets elbow dropped in a pile in front of the net someone pays. we need a policeman on the 4th line, not an enforcer, an a$$Ho$% type dude that has no problem going after the other teams players.

I don't understand why Brown would be on the block. I mean I didn't understand it yesterday when I was drunk and now that I'm sober it makes even less sense.

Minimum 20-20 guy and while I think his hit totals are bogus he's still getting 200+ a year. Maybe he's not the best leader in LA anymore, but he is a leader nonetheless. Plays PK and PP. 3.2 cap hit and 3.5mil real money.

Outside of him sleeping with everyone's wife/gf this makes zero sense. Then again I don't understand why you would take the two players that were issues in another city and reunite them.

I wonder what the numbers were. I was listening on the way in and Neilson said Bob was going to talk numbers.

i doubt they trade brown unless they are bringing in someone to score goals, really with carter and richards you have 2 elite PK/PP guys, browns just getting squeezed out imo.

I guess Dustin brown would be that second-liner everyone was talking about that could replace Hemsky.

Like I said I was drunk so I don't know where they came from, but given how good Penner is at scoring and how healthy Gagne is I can see why you trade a guy that has missed 11 games in the past 7 years and is good for 20 goals every year.

Unless you're trading Gilbert for Brown and Hemsky for a defenseman, I don't know if I even make the deal for Brown. Defense is the big weakness of this team, and I don't see the logic of trading from a weakness to help a strength without getting someone back on defense.

L.A. just did that with the Johnson-Carter swap. They traded for Carter and left holes in their line-up on the backend.

I absolutely have no idea why the Oilers are making a pitch for Methot especially at $3 mil/yr? We have enough big, defensive defensemen and we need puckmovers damnit, doesn't Tambo realizes this?

As for Brown, he would be the perfect fit for this team and would be the ideal replacement for Hemsky but i'm assuming that L.A. will want an NHL defenseman to replace JJ and the Oilers absolutely cannot afford to give up Gilbert or any other top 4 defenseman. Maybe they are looking at Methot to replace Gilbert in case of a trade? Either way, it'll be an interesting few days at least.

I think we only trade Gilbert for Brown if we've moved Hemmer and we got a top 4 d-man back

Blue Jacket's beat writer tweeted we were interested in him. I really hope we aren't.

Yeah, it's really not what we need at all. Right now I'm really intrigued by the idea of bringing Brown in.

What would b the asking price of a 6 0 204 27 year old 60 point scorer whos also a top hitter in the league and has leadership qualities?

Too high for the oilers.

If Dustin Brown is available to us for Tom Gilbert, you make that trade in a heart beat and move on! He is the player for our top 6 that we have been looking for.

Petrty and Smid have developed into an almost legit pairing. I mean it is hard to say either one of those guys is a #1 or #2 but lately together, the results are speaking for themselves. Factor in the possible sceneario where we draft Ryan Murray and he plays along side Whitney and I would mind Sutton and Tuebert as the bottom guys. Potter obviously the #7.

We would start to look like a well rounded team.

I don't see the Oilers stepping up to get Brown. Would probably take something like Hemsky, Hartikainen, 2nd 2012 and one of Marincin/Gernat/Klefbom/Musil.

Probably still worth it from an Oilers perspective.

Hope not, I love Jonesie, fits in well on this team either on the 3rd or 4th line, and is a great character guy......lives with RNH?? I believe.

But it makes sense,

I'm confused how a team that is by all accounts a top 4 defender short becomes more well-rounded by trading one of the ones they have away and simply replacing him with a kid.

you and me both brother

do i want brown? jesus yes! of course i do

but our weakness is our defence, so trading gilbert (a legit top-4 guy) for more help up front simply doesn't make any sense at all

even if we do draft murray, he won't be helping the Oilers for at least 2-3 years
