Only if we can flank him with two larger bodies or use our 2nd line to check. I also think he'd be even better as a winger with a large scoring or checking center. Nielsen, while very heady most of the time, is never going to dominate in front of either net. He's not going to grow in size. He's a very useful/versatile playmaking forward who tends to show strong positioning. He's an extremely agile skater. He has decent skills with the puck in open ice. He'll try to protect the puck along the boards, but he's simply too small to get away with it most of the time. (Even though I think he's strong for his size.)

He was having a rather weak year when we signed him, but he picked up his play at just around that time. I don't think it was a coincidence.

I agree with the sentiment of your comment, but we still have no clue as to what our future envisioned lineup is. When we're "finished", what does Garth think this team should look like? I've got no ****ing clue outside of our drafting.

It sure seems like the bigger bodies with skill that finally make it to the lineup are going to have to trickle up through our system. Maybe we'll get shocked on Monday, probably not.

Mitch

Told ya so. LI is NYR territory. NYI is on LI 40 years and are outnumbered. Can't be any worse in Brooklyn.

All aboard!

Give it a rest sunshine, stop trying to make every thread a brooklyn thread..You really think Brooklyn doesn't have more ranger fans than long island? we knew it would be that way before the game due to standings. Would have been worse in Brooklyn. The ranger fans in my row were from Queens btw.

Great game last night.
