So weird. I'd kill for Brown. He's one of my favourite players and would fit in real well with our team.
Unfortunately, for a player playing above his salary, even in an off year, I don't see LA trading him unless they feel as though this is now Mike Richards' team, which very well could be the case with Jeff Carter getting moved in. Or maybe I'm reading way too much into all of this.
Brown a leaf before the deadline would make me a happy birthday boy (28th bday )

#SNtrade With Carter gone will it make Nash market stronger? As of now it appears only 2 teams with significant offers in. #Rangers #Leafs
Dustin Brown would be great...any rumors on what the asking price is?
Would think they'd want players to win with now? or is it a salary issue...in which maybe they'd want picks and prospects??
If we miss out on Brown, time to reacess Burke's tenure for me. This is the absolute perfect fit for this team, exactly what we need to shore up our liabilities, he's in his prime, he's a leader, he's tough, he can play on the top six, he brings some MOXY. Do it Burkie!!! Schenn and a forward, I'm all over that.

He would provide leadership that team could definitely use, and an upgrade in our top six.
I was thinkin Mac + Franson would get it done, not sure though.
Forget Brown, Forget Nash!!! Lets build everything else this TD and worry about players like that later! (Unelss Burke can land one, then worry about it)
Trade Crabb, Boyce, Connolly!!!
Put Armstrong on the 4th or trade him to Winnipeg!
TRADE FOR A GOALIE AND EVERY BEST 3rdL GRINDER GUY AVAILABLE - STEVE OTT IS A MUST! Guastad, whoever! Wouldda liked Downie but he's gone!
Holy **** I don't listen to Sports Radio often, but that Dan Patrick on 1050 was full emo. He was cutting his wrist on air talking about missing on Carter and the Leafs chocking job.
Don't look at LA's stats this season. Their team is in dire need of offense and Jack Johnson is an offensive d man. Their whole team can't score goals so you looking at his 24 points is irrelevant.

Here's a couple quotes:

A quality young d-man and solid secondary scorer part of what might land Brown. He's worth it. #TradeCentre

Why trade Brown? IMO, LAK like Brown as "player," not as enthused about Brown as captain. IMO, only matter of time til Mike Richards gets C.
Reasoning why he might be traded, and a possible return.
I'd definitely do a young D and a secondary scorer for him.

That's overpayment. I know some here think Schenn is expendable but that's no need to devalue him. They want to free up cap space and want secondary scoring.
My two offers would be
Mac, Holzer and a Third
For Brown.
Or
Franson, Frattin, Reimer and a mid range pick for Brown and Bernier and a cap dump(Penner?)
Team is not close enough to sacrifice it's future to trade it's future to just sneak into the playoffs. We don't need to see another Draft Schamft approach to building this team. I don't see any help on it's way. Burke has to get assets for Grabo, Mac, and Franson, and we retool in the offseason, perhaps at the draft.

It depends if they are looking for an offensive d man or defensive. If they want offensive would they take Percy? Or even Blacker?

Howson better hope that more teams enter the fray. Burke and Sather are probably the best two GMs in the league when it comes to trades.
Sounds like an Aulie / Schenn + Kulemin / MacArthur should get it done!
I'd say that Aulie is too inexperienced, as well as simply not good enough. They want guys who will really contribute to a playoff run I imagine, and I can't see Aulie doing that to a high enough degree.
Like I said in the last thread, I think they'll try to somewhat replace the offense Johnson brought to the team, which is why I suggested someone like Franson. Between Greene, Mitchell, and Scuderi, they've got some dedicated defensive D, and the group as a whole is solid in their own end.
