We had cap space, Chia made a bet and lost.
Bruins better not leave $ unused. I will not judge the plan until after the deadline, one would believe there will be a few good quality salary dumps no ?

I have faith in this management team. They want to win as much or even more than us.

Oddly I just read some Savard update today, and wondered to myself if that would be even legal to bring him back for the playoffs.
Love the Jim Ross..
Could only imagine if they put Hoggan on the line with Savard and Horton.. "Oh Mah Gawd! Its Hoggan.."

Just sucks. 4 years ago you told me the bruins would have Savard and Horton I would have been estatic.. but then you told me they were both out with PCS? SUCKS. That's some real bad luck for Chia. Both those guys healthy..ahhh..if if if.

Now some of us are worked up a returning Ryder w/ Souray (both would have been habs then right?)

Odd sports world.

A first or third round pick isn't a "low end pick."

I thought Horton would be fine. Until I saw him dropping the gloves, which isn't terribly bright, especially when you play on a line w/ Milan ****ing Lucic of all people. Hello?

If you want to get preemptive worrying who's going to handcuff us next w/ scrambled eggs, you know who worries me concussion bait wise, and has for a long time? David Krejci. The way he's playing, he's either hurt right now, or someone ran over his dog, backed up, and ran over him again.

If Calgary becomes sellers...I'd take him, our prospects in the ohl, make a play for iginla and joinkenen. Or, find a way to get Brown and Iginla.

That, or go as is, hope for the best. Not even acquiring Ryder or souray. Take the cap space and hope for the best targeting UFA's in the summer. Chia has to decide if he has a better chance of repeating now, and not next year and beyond. Seems like we can't have it both ways this year.

UFA crop isn't anything to look forward too.

Semin- Great talent, terrible Bruin
Smyth- Probably looking to stay an Oiler
Parise- Has an agent Chiarelli doesn't have a good relationship with (pipe dream anyway)
Doan- If Phoenix stays there he will re-sign, he loves it there he is the captain
Selanne- Might retire
Wideman- never coming here again
Suter- The guy I would have the most interest in
Oduya- Meh take him or leave him
Carle- Is ok but not much of an upgrade
Jagr- Probably retiring or staying where he is
Whitney/Hejduk- I have some interest in both
Grabovski- He is ok,

Personally I don’t see the FA route as viable

Still needs some work.

I wonder if Sauve gets a look at the third line LW spot.

Don't you think Souray should play before Corvo?

I'm praying for Calgary to get smoked tomorrow.

Nope. Without Pevs and Horton we're ****ed. Better to ride it out. Not the year to give up picks and prospects. We just aren't healthy enough. Minor cheap additions at most and make a trade in the off season unless we get someone under contract at the right price that fits into the team going forward.

3 mentions of possibilities.
7/10 chance for Sourray
5/10 chance for Ryder
7/10 chance for Parenteau

Personally, I'd be ok if they picked up Sourray and Parenteau.

Also mentioned Dustin Brown as 3/10 chance.

I don't know how he's rating his chances, or if that's the likelihood?

Acquire midlevel talent to finish season with. Start baking chocolate chip cookies. Present large amount of chocolate chip cookies to Parise on July 1st. Profit.

I think going after Ryder and Souray makes plenty of sense for the Bruins, but explain to me how it makes sense for the Stars? Ryder is playing well for them and has one year left at very reasonable money for what he's bringing. They are 8th in the West and probably need playoff revenue a lot more than they need to dump 3.5 million in salary. I just don't see how or why the Stars would be sellers right now.

Maybe the new owner wants to clear the deck and make a push for Suter and Parise? Thats how the Bruins turned it around. Those two, plus Benn, Goligoski, Eriksson, Oleksiak, Jack Campbell, and all the loot they get back by trading Ryder, Ribeiro, Ott, Souray... They'd be stupid to push for the 8th seed.

If they make it they're just going to get swept, I'm pretty sure they have one win all year against the top 4 in their conference and it was St. Louis before Hitchcock.

NHL Network's Hockey Tonight hed Dreger and McKenzie and someone else on and McKenzie mentioned that Dallas is going younger and may be looking to deal some of their vets to get younger. Ott was the key guy but Morrow was also mentioned.

Do not want Parenteau. He is a fringe talent who is an ideal situation to score. However it would seem they have talked extensively with the Isles.....My current predictions...D Souray, Eaton, Clitsome. Forwards: Parenteau, Ott, Blake. I can't believe I am going to say this, I think its going to be OTT, who the Bruins, among others, hate.

Randomly -

I think they'll trade for Lecavalier at the last minute. Will be very pricy but will all be picks and prospects.
(and then i think they might trade him back to Tampa in the summer)

The same one with a 7.7m caphit for the next 8 years? If they wanted a garbage contract Nash would have been acquired already
