Matsumoto must be the healthy scratch. Or so I'm guessing, lol.

Good to hear he opted for #8, that's when he played his best hockey. Not for reasons of superstition as much as a sign of his motivation.

Panthers official twitter apparently earlier tweeted that Matsumoto was sent back to AHL.

Let's guess the lineup!

Versteeg-Weiss-Fleishmann
Bergenheim-Kopecky-Samuelsson
Wolski-Matthias-Santorelli
Barch-Smithson-Skille

No offense to Wolski, but he should earn 2nd line minutes and Bergy has totally earned it. No I don't think Kopecky should center the 2nd line, but it doesn't seem that Dineen trusts Santorelli at center and he loves Kopecky.

I feel Kopecky is good as a Gelinas: big body in front, banger, gritty vet. I can see why Dineen would like that.

Santorelli is on the 4th line, I believe.

GR reported today that Smithson was the first player out there for morning skate and that he'll be on a line with Santorelli.

But that was the issue in NY, he's not a 3rd or 4th line type... ( having watched him myself + review ranger board on this trade.)

Haha.. don't give up you were right

Steve Goldstein ‏ @goldieonice

Panthers have Wolski with Matthias and Santorelli. Smithson between Barch and Skille.

Now we finally have a 4th line like it should look like

Dineen, I love ya, but wtf??

Why isn't Matthias, a natural center, a guy who looked terrific with Bergenheim and Sams before the injuries centering them? Oh, and a guy who can keep up with them?

Santo should be centering Wolski and Kopecky. Well, imo

Why is Smithson listed as a winger?

Anyway, with Barch/Skille, our 4th line is pretty huge now.

Dineen (and really, Tallon too)...they value Kopecky way too highly.

I agree. Kopecky should be playing on the third or fourth line.

Good. We have too many forwards and we need more guaranteed offense.

I know the NHL was interested in learning more about the long term effects of head injuries on former players. If they want any supporting evidence they should listen to Bill Lindsay analyze plays.
