Basically i see the sabres waiting to see how far out they are on Sunday fro the playoffs before they decide to sell or buy.

Sabres will prolly ask for a Center prospect. Mcniell would be a great addition to Buffalo but not sure what the trade would be to make it even.

It would probably be Pirri. Maybe Dannault and a pick.

Greg Zanon makes a lot of sense, he was basically Hjalmarsson before, now he is a slightly washed up version but will still block a ton of shots.

What would you give for Nabokov and Jurcina or Eaton?

Just to clarifiy, Id rather keep Nabokov, but if we cant sign him it makes sense to move him

I don't think it's all that urgent, Olsen has filled in admirably. Keith and Olsen have played pretty well together and Seabrook has really settlled Nick Leddy down.

If you're stuck with OD and Lepisto as a 3rd pairing, yeah it's not optimal but it's not devastating. I'd say if you can get him for a 2nd or less, Bryan Allen is the guy you want, if not... try to get a 2C/2LW. and let's see what happens.

Parenteau along with Allen and/or Sekera would be great.

I would deal Leopold for Pirri, Morin or McNeil and a draft pick or another prospect (Paradis level). Sekera would cost more because he is only 25.

I feel like I should bring up my earlier offer of Wideman, Vokoun, and Perrault for Morin, Frolik, and a 1st. It still stands, at least in my opinion.

Doesn't Parenteau play RW? If so, we don't need him... We need a C or LW. If you get a C the LW situation isn't as bad.

LW: Sharp - Brunette - Stalberg - Mayers
C: Toews - Kruger - Bolland - Morrison
RW: Kane - Hossa - Bickell - Hayes.

That is severe overpayment. This deadline will be all about who overpays the most, but this is severe overpayment. I like Leopold, but damn.

Well he's a right handed shot. I've seen him listed as C, LW, and RW.

I guess I should mention I'm a Caps fan. I don't think this deal is that bad for us.

Acq Spacek + Allen (or Zanon)

Keith-Olsen
Allen/Zanon-Seabrook
Leddy-Spacek

When Hjalmarsson is ready whenever that is

Keith-Seabrook
Hjalmarson-Allen/Zanon
Leddy-Spacek

Unless he has really fallen off, I think you'd want Leddy ahead of Zanon.

It does absolutely nothing for the Caps. Other than that it's great. It is, however, better than the deals that had the Caps shipping out Wideman and Semin with Penner coming back.

You don't think a guy with top 6 PF potential and a 1st does anything for the Caps? Well, not this season of course, but who cares about this season. I suppose we could get more if there's a bidding war, but that's not worth speculating on.

I would like to get a dman who could allow Leddy to play less and not PK

If Zanon has fallen off that much he cant be that guy then Allen would need to be Hawks target

You are saying McNeil, Pirri or Morin (one of the 3) is a severe overpayment for a solid defenseman who isnt just a rental. The draft pick or lower level prospect (1 of the 2) isn't that important to the deal. Maybe I should have offered Myers or Ehrhoff instead?
