If we recall Avery and he doesn't get claimed, can we use him for our playoff roster?
Avery isnt getting recalled. He isnt even playing in the AHL right now which should tell you something. Torts doesnt want him on this team and honestly when he was here he was largely ineffective.
If it's done for Avery then it's a pretty nice show of class by the team. Nvm Times up haha. Was a nice thought. Either way im sure AVery is fine collecting his check
Really curious why the organization hates him so much, he's been a very good player for them for the years that he has been here aside from this one obviously, but that doesn't seem to merit full out banishment even from the AHL team. Wonder what really went down. Did he sleep with Sather's daughter or something?

A lot of Rangers fans would like to get an answer to this question. Too bad we won't see him again in the Rangers uniform.
I wonder if he's ever going to show up to his bar in nyc. Warren 77 I think is the name... I liked him as a Ranger at times... Best of luck to him in whatever he'll be doing in the future.
Obviously the team has turned the corner with him. His not playing in Hartford pretty much seals the deal that he'll not be back this season.
I don't agree however that he was ineffective in the 15 games he played with us this year. In the allotted amount of ice time he got he played fairly well. Even got a 2nd star one night. Considering he averaged 7 minutes of ice time over those 15 games that's an achievement right there.
Obvious as well that Torts doesn't care for him. I like Sean but Torts is the coach and the Rangers have played great all year and the best thing to do under those circumstances is not to meddle with a winning formula. Avery has not helped himself either. His attitude going back to the AHL was not good. In that respect he has himself to blame. **** happens.

Are you sure he will? From what I had read on twitter,he hasn`t even showed up at Whales practise,so maybe his not earning his check(s)?
Eighter way, I wish him the best and good luck in the future.

Just lack of discipline i think sums it up. Some rules apply, code of conduct. He broke them, and often. He's a unique individual that gave his all on the ice and was embraced by NY for that one reason. However...he's got the bad seed label that reared it's ugly head one too many times.
If you want to discuss Avery as a hockey player that's fine, but leave his political views and life choices out of the mix. Not the place for debating marriage equality.
So why is Avery not playing in CT? Given the lack of call up options right now it may be smart to have him as an alternative just in case
Players who have to pass through re-entry waivers can't play in the NHL after the trade deadline. That's why there was speculation by Larry Brooks about Avery being re-called last Saturday--that way he could play in the NHL if he was traded (or taken by another team).
The Avery era with the Rangers is over. Playing in the NHL is about following the rules on and off the ice. Avery isn't good at following rules.
Let's also consider that if the rumors of Avery being a problem in the locker room and lacking discipline as a person are true, the Rangers likely would not make that information public, and would instead quietly bury him.
I remember hearing whispers that his bringing outsiders into the locker room pre-game was the "last straw" in a series of irresponsible behavior and "me-first" thinking.
I really did like Avery when he was at his best, but I think this goes to show that there is no place for a T.O./Ocho Cinco character in the NHL.

All lies - Avery has been a model citizen with the New York Rangers! Those reports from his time with Dallas and beforehand have nothing to do with him today.
