Found at the main board, Mods can move it if they'd like..

According to Aarron Portzline

The New York Rangers made a late run pitch, adding prospect J.T. Miller to an offer that already included NHL center Brandon Dubinsky, prospects Tim Erixon and Christian Thomas and a first-round draft pick.

Portzline works for the Columbus Dispatch

Thoughts?

I just realized we're 2 points behind Vancouver with 3 games in hand and 1 point behind Detroit with 1 game in hand. Also 1 point ahead of St. Louis with 2 games in hand.

We have three games in hand on Detroit.

Can someone explain to me why Rick Nash is so much more valuable than Dany Heatley?

skating. Heatley is kinda 1 dimensional, that insane 1-timer of his. Nash can skate, has the power forwards body, etc, etc, etc

with that said, the price we offered up was significant. pretty much on the border of what i would be able to stomach if i were gm.

So after he slammed into the boards, he's on all fours while the play continues 180 feet down the ice. Then the whistle blows and he's still in a fog, waiting for the trainer. The trainer must have been from Nazareth, because the minute he shows up, a simple hand to the back pops Briere right back up.

He didnt miss a shift, and was scrumming around the net soon after.

Never in my life did I ever think hockey would become soccer.
did not see the hit but you might be confusing two concepts - if a player protects a puck with his body you wouldn't justify a trip or hold by a defender by the fact that he can't get to the fact legally, would you? It should be the same here. On the other hand, simulation is a “penalizable” offense.

Yep.

Dubinsky, McIlrath, Thomas and a 1st turned into Dubinsky, Erixon, Thomas and a 1st, which evolved into Dubinsky, Erixon, Thomas, Miller and a 1st on deadline day.

The 1st deal I would do.

The 2nd deal I would be hesitant with (Erixon is higher in our prospect pool than McIlrath).

The 3rd deal is too much.

The deal offered for Nash, is the most I'd offer, so I'm happy with Sather.

This was a Nashty trade saga. I am happy Sather didn't go that far. Dubinsky and 2 prospects is fine. Dubinsky + prospect and 2012 1st is also fine, but giving up 2 prospects, Dubi and a 1st is the deal I would make for a guy like Parise, not Nash.

The biggest mistake of Nash's career was signing that contract. Thought so from Day 1. He still could've made good money on the open market, AND put himself in a better position to compete for a cup.

If true, I'm very happy that Howson is an idiot and walked away. That basically equates to three first round picks, a second round pick and Brandon Dubinsky.

From NBCSN:

Can someone explain to me how the Penguins are "The premier team of the East"?

I'm so sick of that team getting the spotlight for no reason.

More like Malkin is playing out of his mind and the Pens bandwagon that was built up since the lockout would stop paying attention if the Pens were not talked about 24/7. The pens are the most marketable team because of all the hype they got

Didn't feel like typing this all, but pretty much this.'

If it were decided that Dallas would be hyped as furiously, it would be a marketable team too.
